The Patty Gadget is a device capable of producing Krabby Patties at a fabulous rate.[1] It appears in the episode "SpongeBob vs. The Patty Gadget."
Description
It has three levels of production speed: low, medium, and high. Its lever cannot be pushed too hard or else it will break off and the machine will go out of control.
Role in episode
In order to rid the Krusty Krab of SpongeBob, its creator, Squidward, attempts to convince Mr. Krabs to replace SpongeBob with the Patty Gadget due to the advantages it offers. Mr. Krabs is nearly convinced to fire SpongeBob, but he comes out to declare a "patty war." Squidward, as confident as he thinks, starts the machine, but it begins to operate out of control after the lever is broken off.
Despite this, SpongeBob manages to produce enough patties and stay ahead of the race long enough to make it explode.
The remains of the destroyed machine are later buried in the Bikini Bottom Cemetery, and are constantly mourned over by Squidward.
