Noriyuki "Pat" Morita (June 28, 1932 - November 24, 2005; aged 73) was an American actor and voice actor. He voiced Master Udon in the episode "Karate Island" and died on November 24, 2005 due to kidney failure. His dedication was shown at the end of the episode "Karate Island," due to his death about six months before the original airing of that episode. He was best known as Mitsumo "Arnold" Takahashi from the TV show Happy Days, Mr. Miyagi in The Karate Kid, and the Emperor of China in the Walt Disney Animation Studios 36th animated feature film, Mulan.

Trivia[]

  • The dedication card for him at the end of "Karate Island" was removed in American television airings after the Best Day Ever marathon and has also been removed from all digital and streaming releases on Amazon Prime Video, Paramount+, and iTunes. However, the Polish, Canadian, Australian, Belgian, French, Turkish, Spanish, German, Greek, Russian, Asian, Filipino, Latin American, Malaysian, European, all DVD releases, and the Netflix version (albeit cut short) still have the dedication intact. The dedication used to be left in the UK and Ireland airings, but has since been removed.[1]
