"Partial Recall" is a The Patrick Star Show episode from season 4. In this episode, when Plankton loses his memories, the Dartfish adopt him, but his evil habits soon rub off on the family.

Characters[]

Synopsis[]

Plankton runs from the Krusty Krab to the Chum Bucket with a successfully stolen Krabby Patty, telling Karen over a walkie-talkie to open the doors for him. However, he crashes into Patrick, who is poking around in his belly button with his whole head inside, and tells him to move. Patrick thinks that Plankton with the burger is food that delivers itself and opens his mouth wide. Trying to dodge him, Plankton ends up being shoved into Patrick’s mouth, where, as he tries to escape, he gets chewed. After arriving home, Patrick notices Plankton on his tongue, mistakes him for a pickle, and spits him onto the ground.

Plankton is then wiped up by Bunny with a mop, run over by GrandPat’s mobility scooter, rolled over by Squidina on roller skates, and stomped on by Cecil during his clog dance, causing Plankton’s brain to malfunction. Patrick then thinks a tenderized pickle still sounds good, but Dartfish swoops in and rescues Plankton before Patrick can eat him. When Plankton wakes up, the Dartfish family introduces themselves. Unable to remember his true name, Plankton thinks he’s called Pickle. The Dartfish family adopts him, and he fits in well, while Karen wonders why Plankton hasn’t returned home. She puts up missing posters around town, but when a fish approaches her claiming he found Plankton, it turns out to be just a booger.

Meanwhile, Plankton prepares to have lunch with his new family but finds out they only have a single crumb to last the whole week. Feeling bad, he asks them where they get their food, and they show him the Star family’s dining table overflowing with food. Plankton tries to climb onto the table, but Daddy Dartfish stops him, explaining that the food belongs to the Stars. As the Stars feast, a crumb falls to the ground, which the Dartfish family considers a great harvest. However, Plankton becomes frustrated with the inequality, so he pokes Patrick’s leg with a pin, causing him to drop an entire turkey.

Plankton brings the turkey home, but Daddy Dartfish insists they follow their rule of only eating leftovers dropped by the Stars in haste, as they have a rhyme for it. Tempted by the sight of the turkey, Plankton’s two devil selves appear in his conscience and convince him to find a loophole. He makes up a rhyme convincing the family it’s okay to eat stolen food. They gorge themselves on the turkey, but Daddy Dartfish says he could still make room for dessert, prompting Plankton’s evil side to tempt him again. They start pulling off tricks to steal more food from the Star family, but no matter how much they get, Plankton always wants more.

Meanwhile, Karen’s search for Plankton leads her to the Star house, where she finds the family extremely skinny and sees an obese Plankton stealing food. She gets him out of the Dartfish home and demands to know what’s going on. Plankton doesn’t recognize her, saying he can’t leave his new family because they took him in after his head injury. Realizing the problem, Karen smacks Plankton on the head, restoring his memory. Plankton no longer feels any bond with the Dartfish family and reveals his true identity, to their shock. He tells them they don’t have to settle for crumbs to know they are worth more, then leaves with Karen.

Afterward, the Dartfish family nurses the emaciated Star family back to health with soup and apologizes for stealing their food for months. As Patrick weakly tries to eat a turkey leg, it’s revealed that Plankton’s evil selves have transferred into Teensy Tom, who pokes Patrick with a pin just as the episode ends.
