Oldie-o's[1] are ring-shaped robots that appear in The Patrick Star Show episode "The Yard Sale."
Description[]
Oldie-o's are ring-shaped robots used to help old people with their daily lives. They are equipped with several robotic arms as well as other things such as a hose and a sink.
The oldie-o's machine also comes with four chrome buttons and an interactive display of the product surrounded by a neon-red background.
Role in episode[]
At the yard sale, a young girl tries to purchase a ring-shaped object called a "loopy-hoop." GrandPat objects, claiming that it's an "oldie-o" from 3000 AD. According to GrandPat, during his time in the future, everyone owned one. He is seen buying one from a machine, paying with his tongue, which causes a robot to come out and give him one. The oldie-o transports GrandPat around, then feeds him lunch, brushes his teeth, and diapers him.
At the Clamiseum, both GrandPat and Moronicus wear their oldie-os. While charging at each other, GrandPat takes off his and traps Moronicus in it. Moronicus punches the oldie-o out of frustration, which activates it by accident. It sprays food in his face, brushes his teeth, puts a diaper on him, then takes out a pillow and pats him on the back. Moronicus is lulled to sleep, as the crowd cheers for GrandPat.
Back in the present day, the girl refuses to believe GrandPat's story. He offers her a lollipop instead, but she declines, and buys the oldie-o. After trying to hula-hoop with it, it latches onto her and does its routine again, flipping her upside down and flying her away.
