Old Man Walker[3][4] is an elderly fish who makes many appearances in the series, usually as a side character. He first appears in the episode "Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy."
Description
He is a short light green elderly fish with light orange liver spots on top of his head. He usually wears a light blue shirt and wears thick glasses. He is also mostly seen with a bamboo walker which is what gives him the name "Old Man Walker."
History
Throughout the series, he appears as a side character. He can usually be seen eating at the Krusty Krab.
He makes his debut in "Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy" as part of the angry mob full of residents of Shady Shoals when summoned by Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy.
In "The Algae's Always Greener," he runs into a Krusty Krab support beam and tells it, "pardon me, young lady." He then grabs the ketchup bottle that Plankton is hiding in and accidentally shoots him right through the wall of Mr. Krabs' office due to his lousy aim.
In "As Seen on TV," he watches a Bran Flakes commercial and mistakes SpongeBob as the cereal box on TV.
He used to be Mr. Krabs' and Plankton's elementary school teacher in Poseidon Elementary School when he was younger, as shown in "Friend or Foe."
He is currently married to Mary as of "Money Talks."
In "Pineapple RV," he takes over Squidward's job as Krusty Krab cashier while he goes on his road trip to visit the Clarinet Lily.
Trivia
- For the first ten seasons, he was credited as "old fish" or "old man." Several episodes also referred to him as Old Man Jenkins, who is a separate character. Season 11 began specifically calling him Old Man Walker; the credits for "Plankton Paranoia," "Pineapple RV," and "SpongeBob's Big Birthday Blowout" all use this name.
- He has the same orange liver spots that the blue and wheelchair Jenkins have.
- In "Your Shoe's Untied" and "Fear of a Krabby Patty," he appears to have a young man's voice.
