— Octavius Rex, "The Chaperone"
Character

Octavius Rex, also known as Long, Tan, and Handsome, is Pearl's ex-boyfriend, who first appears in the episode "The Chaperone." He later returns in the season 9 episode "Goodbye, Krabby Patty?" and begins to make more recurring appearances.

He is Debbie Rechid's husband and works at Goofy Goober's Ice Cream Party Boat.

Description

In "The Chaperone," he is a skinny, maple brown anchovy who wears a light green sweater with brown pants and large round black glasses. He has a large visible bald spot on his head.

In "Goodbye, Krabby Patty?," "Larry the Floor Manager ," "There's a Sponge in My Soup," "Stuck on the Roof," and "Gary's Got Legs" he is light yellow with a blue sweater, a pink shirt,  a purple bowtie, and brown pants.

In "Snooze You Lose," he is teal with a brown sweater, a beige shirt, a red bow tie, and dark brown pants.

In "Mutiny on the Krusty," he is light brown with a dark purple bowtie and sweater, a pink shirt, and blue pants.

In "The Goofy Newbie," he is dandelion yellow with a Goofy Goober's employee uniform on.

Role in episode

"The Chaperone"

Pearl mentions Octavius Rex as "Long, Tan, and Handsome."

He then appears at the prom, alone. Later, he asks Pearl to dance with him but she refuses since she is dancing with SpongeBob.

"Goodbye, Krabby Patty?"

Octavius appears outside of the Mirror Shop as one of the bystanders who are disgusted and puzzled by what SpongeBob and Patrick did in front of the store. He later appears outside the Krusty Krab, where he and a few other fish smell the Krabby Patty SpongeBob is cooking.

"Mutiny on the Krusty"

Octavius appears in the Krusty Krab and is quickly the one to judge Mr. Krabs and Squidward. He and the other Bikini Bottomites are trying to leave the restaurant.

"Snooze You Lose"

Octavius appears alongside Maestro Mackerel at the concert hall. At first, Maestro does not know who is on the stage, but Octavius tells him it is Squidward and that he is a clarinet player. At first he enjoys watching him play the clarinet, but once Squidward wakes up he hates it.

"There's a Sponge in My Soup"

Octavius is one of the customers in the Krusty Krab who orders the Krabby Soup. Sunshine emerges from the soup bowl and kisses him, causing his wife, Debbie, to hit him, complaining that he loves his soup more than her.

"Larry the Floor Manager"

When Octavius is served his food on weights, he cannot lift them. Larry and Frank yell at him to push the weights, so he does, and manages to lift them onto a table. However, he passes out before he can eat.

"Stuck on the Roof"

When SpongeBob is stuck on the Krusty Krab roof, Sandy tries to get him down using her Extend-O-Boots. However, she loses control of the invention and nearly kicks Octavius and other Bikini Bottomites, who run away screaming.

"Gary's Got Legs"

Octavius is one of the people at the Snail Park who are shocked at Gary's pair of legs, and is later seen flying through the air after Gary kicks him.

"The Goofy Newbie"

He appears as an employee at Goofy Goober's Ice Cream Party Boat along with his co-worker constantly mentioning that Goofy Goober employees get free ice cream all day long, giving Patrick the idea to get a job at Goofy Goober's.

Relationships

Pearl Krabs

They dated for a while, but then Octavius broke up with her.

He then tries to talk to her at the prom in "The Chaperone," but Pearl rejects him.

Debbie Rechid

After the events of "The Chaperone," Octavius married Debbie. In "There's a Sponge in My Soup," when he is kissed by Sunshine, who is in his soup, Debbie hits him and complains that he loves his soup more than her.

Trivia

  • Starting with "Mutiny on the Krusty," he no longer says "meep" and now speaks full sentences.
