Norma[5][6] Rechid[7] is a background fish who makes several cameo appearances throughout the series, starting with the episode "Ripped Pants."
Description
She is a light orange fish with light red lips and wears a dark lavender dress. She is also seen wearing a red-violet dress in certain episodes, such as "Slimy Dancing."

- She is often shown as a nurse at the Bikini Bottom Hospital.
Family
Norma is married to Fred, as seen in numerous episodes, beginning with "Christmas Who?." Her ex-husband is Frank and she appears with him in many episodes, such as "No Nose Knows." It is revealed in "Goo Goo Gas" that she is Baby Rechid's mother. Norma is sisters with Nazz-Mimi and Patty Rechid, whom she looks very similar to. She is also Frankie Billy's sister-in-law and Nazz-Mimi's baby's aunt.
Role in series
"Chocolate with Nuts"
She is seen when SpongeBob and Patrick are selling chocolate bars. As they go to knock on her door, she answers. As SpongeBob opens his candy bar bags, he struggles since every time he opens a bag a new one appears. Eventually, she gets tired of waiting and goes back inside.
"Goo Goo Gas"
She appears at the beginning of the episode feeding Baby Rechid, which gives Plankton the idea to turn everyone into babies.
"Spongicus"
She is seen complaining about the price of a chumstick after Plankton offers one for ten dollars. She is also seen gagging and coughing up Plankton's chum, which leads her to call it foul.

- Her name is similar to that of Norma Rashid, a former news anchor at WLWT-5 in Cincinnati, OH; who is currently a professor at the University of Cincinnati.
- She looks similar to and shares the same last name with Patty Rechid.
