Synopsis[]
The episode opens with Patrick reporting on the events happening in the Star house as part of Star Inaction News, which includes Cecil being stuck on the fridge, someone (actually Patrick) having snuck into a cookie jar, and a laundry pile-up. The scene cuts to Patrick in the bathroom. Bunny busts from the ceiling to clean out the bathtub, and pulls out a hair, revealed to be GrandPat's beard, as he was stuck in there. GrandPat pulls out a seahorse and makes his way to a race, which Cecil soon reports on. Patrick and Squidina join in the race with them, still inside the house, but Squidina soon gets a cramp, and Bunny kicks them out of the house.
Wanting to find new stuff to report on, Patrick and Squidina end up at Granny Tentacles' house after doing some digging. They try to report on her while she is gardening, but Granny Tentacles grows a pest-resistant plant that eats Patrick. Patrick and Squidina roll down a hill and bump into SpongeBob, who is waiting for his first driving lesson. Mrs. Puff arrives, and SpongeBob claims that he is ready. Patrick and Squidina join for the ride, despite Mrs. Puff being against it.
SpongeBob then begins driving, with Patrick and Squidina wanting to continue reporting during his lesson. Their reporting causes SpongeBob to drive out of control, with him almost running into the Krusty Krab. He slams the brakes, and at first, it seems that the boat got to a safe stop, but the Krusty Krab sign falls onto the boat, damaging it. As a result, Mrs. Puff angrily kicks Patrick and Squidina out and drives away with SpongeBob. A wanted criminal, Tony Tuna, enters the Krusty Krab, with Patrick and Squidina not knowing that it is a robbery.
Patrick and Squidina continue reporting at the Krusty Krab, interviewing Tony Tuna as he plans his robbery. He steals money from the register, but soon uses it to buy Patrick a Krabby Patty. Tony Tuna then steals a taxi as part of his getaway from the police. Patrick helps him hide from them before they drive to his secret hideout. Someone knocks on the door, revealed to be Perch Perkins and Harvey doing a crime report.
Patrick and Squidina get into a fight with Perch and Harvey, shortly before the police surround the hideout. Tony Tuna knows he is in trouble, but soon reveals that he has extra ski masks, and puts them on Perch, Harvey, Squidina, and Patrick, then pushes them outside. The police arrest all of them, due to complaints they have received of reporters causing disruption to the town. Tony Tuna, having escaped, concludes reporting, as GrandPat and the other jockeys finish up their race around the racetrack, with GrandPat getting a narrow win by sticking out a nose.
