Nicktoons, known as Nicktoons Network from 2005 - 2009, is a television channel that reruns Nick's older animated lineup since 2002. The channel sometimes reruns episodes of SpongeBob SquarePants, despite the amount of reruns shown on the main channel. After the Nick rebranding, as of September 28, 2009, the channel reinstated their old name, Nicktoons.

Trivia

  • Nicktoons runs a marathon of SpongeBob SquarePants episodes every night from 10/11:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
  • In the UK and Ireland, the end credits on shows do not appear; they only appear when a new episode premieres.
  • In the UK and Ireland, the Toons part of the logo is yellow. There are also other versions where Toons is in a different color. Also, the UK and Ireland versions do not run 24 hours a day. Until January 2, 2019 when the channel started to run 24 hours a day along with other Nickelodeon channels in the UK.
    • Until February 8, 2017, Nicktoons UK and Ireland presented all of their widescreen shows with a slight letterboxing and cropping on the left, and stretched all their TV shows that were originally in 4:3.
      • Starting with February 8th, they fixed the letterboxing issue and now, they crop the 4:3 shows slightly on the top and the bottom.
  • After 2 A.M. (Eastern), Nicktoons switched from split-screen credits to regular credits until the mornings. An hour of SpongeBob episodes aired at that time on Wednesday and Saturday nights continuing from a marathon that began at midnight (Eastern), with its original unplastered credits intact. Before May 2007, the show's regular credits was used all throughout the day.
    • May 5, 2014 after Nicktoons rebranded again with a new style, with the rebrand also including the addition of on-screen credits, just like its main sister channel Nickelodeon. This ended the daily 2 a.m. Eastern regular credit routine. But the split-screen credits continued to be used on certain shows until 2016.
    • Sometime around 2015, in the UK and Ireland, the Nicktoons URL appeared one or two minutes later until the show ended.
  • In Winter of 2016, Nicktoons.com for the United States was shut down.
    • Attempting to visit Nicktoons.com will redirect to Nickelodeon's website.
  • For unexplained reasons, the official Nicktoons Facebook page has been removed.
  • During the Every SpongeBob Ever marathon, there was a special version of the Nicktoons screenbug where the "Toons" part of the logo was in a spongy text and SpongeBob's eyes took the place of the O's.
