Nickmas Party[1] was a Christmas-themed event that occurs throughout December 2023, premiering and encoring various holiday-themed episodes of series leading up to the second NFL Nickmas Game. A brand-new Patchy holiday special premiered during the event on December 15.[9]

Production[]

Nickelodeon's original December press schedule was revealed on November 1, 2023, confirming various premieres that would soon be aired as a part of this event. However, the schedule would eventually be heavily edited, removing or changing the dates and time-slots for most of the episodes.[10]

A month later on December 1, Nickelodeon officially released a promo, and certain shows were either missing (Monster High) or still included after being pulled from the event[10] (Rugrats.)[1]

  • This was the last event to occur in 2023.
  • The title is a pun on the phrase "Christmas party."
  • Clips from "Christmas Who?," "It's a SpongeBob Christmas!," and "SpongeBob's Road to Christmas" can be seen in the promo.[1]
  • This event marks the first time Rock Paper Scissors will officially air on television, as a short (RPS000 "TV Time"[10]) is to run as a "sneak peek" for the show during the NFL Nickmas Game.[17] It was originally going to premiere on November 6, 2023, but it was pulled.[18]
    • The series' pilot previously premiered on August 19, 2023 on YouTube,[19] and the first episode ("Birthday Police" / "Paper's Big Lie") premiered on August 22 on VOD.
  • Originally, this event had a completely different premiere schedule, but many of those premieres were eventually wiped or rescheduled:[10]
  • The singles NFL Nickmas Game received 903,000 viewers on premiere,[16] making it the highest-rated broadcast on Nickelodeon in 2023.
  • "A Very Patchy Holiday Stream" was then moved ahead to November 29,[9] before being pulled entirely,[20] and not long later was rescheduled to its final premiere date of December 15.[9]
  • The Nick Jr. block and network also featured a variety of "Nickmas" programming beginning on November 20, although these are technically not a part of the block, as they aren't part of the mainline Nickelodeon schedule or branding.[20]
