The Nickelodeon Storyboard Workshop was an event hosted between March and May of 2023[1] at the Ringling College of Art & Design, in Sarasota, Florida.[2] It was held in collaboration with DePaul University.[3][4] Students were chosen to participate in storyboarding practice through adapting scenes from Kamp Koral: SpongeBob's Under Years, after being given the episode's script. They were not allowed to watch the original episodes before doing the storyboard, and were instructed to use the character models from the original series.[5]
The workshop was guided by Brandon Warren and Joe Mandia, two directors from Kamp Koral. They met with students throughout the term both in-person and online to guide them on revisions.[6] Dave Cunningham also provided feedback.[7]
