This is the page about the Halloween-themed event. For other uses, see Nickelodeon (disambiguation).

Nickelodeon Monster Fest was a Halloween-themed Friday night animation block[3] that occurred on October 14 and October 21, 2022,[1][2] premiering new episodes of various Nickelodeon animated series, as well as The Smurfs, an acquired cartoon from Belgium. Running from 7:00pm - 9:00pm,[1][2] it was the last major Friday night premiere block; as following the events' low ratings, Nick would either dedicate Fridays to film debuts or a revised one-hour animated line-up. SpongeBob headlined the first run of the 2-hour "fest" with two new segments: "Squidferatu" and "Slappy Daze."

Trivia[]

General[]

  • Almost every single episode that "premiered" during this event made their debut in various other countries and media services:
    • SpongeBob: "Squidferatu / Slappy Daze" made their worldwide debut hours earlier in Hispanic America.
    • Big Nate: "Valentine's Day of Horror" and "Ghostly Coven of Man Witches" both previously premiered on Paramount+ on February 17 and August 19, 2022 respectively.
    • The Smurfs had various segments already out for a month in Belgium:
    • Rugrats (2021): "Night Crawler / Goblets and Goblins" both previously premiered on Paramount+ on April 15, 2022.
    • Middlemost Post: "More Scary Stories to Tell Your Cloud" premiered in the Commonwealth of Independent States on October 20, 2022.
    • The Loud House was the only show not to have its premiere come out in another country or platform.
  • Big Nate and The Smurfs stayed in the same time-slots during both occurrences of the event, airing new episodes at 7:30pm and 8:00pm on both weeks.
  • The Kamp Koral episode "Are You Afraid of the Dork?" was originally scheduled to premiere on Friday, October 14, 2022 on Nickelodeon (during this event) at 8:00 PM,[9][10] but got replaced with the premieres of the Rugrats reboot episodes, "Night Crawler" and "Goblets and Goblins."[4]
  • This is the final time that Middlemost Post has aired on Nickelodeon, as "More Scary Stories to Tell Your Cloud" was the series finale.[2][11] Nick hasn't rerun the series since October 21, 2022.
  • At the time, every premiere during this event was a series low - with the exception of the October 14 run of The Smurfs, which was slightly higher than a previous Independence Day premiere that received 0.155 million viewers.[12]
    • Each series low:
      • SpongeBob: 0.234m[6]
      • Big Nate: 0.126m[8]
      • The Smurfs: 0.136m[8]
      • Rugrats: 0.167m[6]
