Reception[]
Nickelodeon Kart Racers 3: Slime Speedway has received "mixed or average reviews" on all platforms according to review aggregator Metacritic. There was a 70/100 on the PlayStation 5 version,[7] a 68/100 on the Xbox Series X and Series S version,[8] and a 64/100 on the Nintendo Switch version.[9] Shacknews appreciated the number of characters, tracks and modes, but ultimately called it "as average of a kart racer as it gets."[10] Nintendo Life praised the character roster, customization and addition of voice acting, but heavily criticized the performance of the Switch version, saying that it runs "with a severely reduced frame rate compared to its predecessor, making everything feel more sluggish as a result."[11]

Trivia[]
General[]
- This video game's existence was first confirmed after being leaked on BestBuy.com[12] and Target.com.[13]
- BestBuy.com leaked a prototype cover for Nickelodeon Kart Racers 3: Slime Speedway on the day it was announced. The prototype consisted of a Rating Pending (RP) from the ESRB, the system logo, the GameMill Entertainment logo, and the game's logo placed centered on a blurred out blue Bikini Bottom background.
- This video game was originally planned to be released on October 7, 2022,[14] but was later delayed to one week later on October 14, 2022.
- On July 17, 2022, another prototype cover for the PlayStation 5 version was found on a now deleted Instagram post.
- Both the second PlayStation 5 prototype cover and the finalized cover of this video game contain the following differences:
- Two random red brush strokes are seen on the second PlayStation 5 prototype cover. One above the game's logo and near the top of the cover. Another one on a tree. These are removed on the finalized cover.
- The Nickelodeon logo is moved over more to the left side on the finalized cover.
- The words "Slime Speedway" are only written in black letters on the second PlayStation 5 prototype cover. The words "Slime Speedway" are written in black and have white outlines added to those letters on the finalized cover.
- The sides are cropped off on the second PlayStation 5 prototype cover.
- Some of the coral rocks are removed from the background on the finalized cover.
- The flower clouds have different placements on the finalized cover.
- Raphael is moved over more to the left side on the finalized cover.
- Slightly different placement of the slime and some more slime is added on the finalized cover.
- The GameMill Entertainment logo is moved down slightly on the finalized cover.
- The second PlayStation 5 prototype cover has an ESRB rating of T for "Teen." This is either an error, the rating was a placeholder, or the game was originally going to be rated T from the ESRB. The finalized cover instead has an ESRB rating of E for "Everyone."
- This game has two editions, a Standard Edition and a Turbo Edition, which includes the Turbo Pack DLC.[15][16] That DLC pack includes:
- Zuko from Avatar: The Last Airbender as a playable racer
- Eastman and Laird Raphael from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as a playable racer
- Firelord Ozai from Avatar: The Last Airbender as crew member
- Shredder from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as a crew member
- Slime style Exhaust Kart Part
- Slime style Monster Wheel Kart Part
- Orange and Purple Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards Paint Jobs
- This is the first Nickelodeon racing video game to be released for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and Series S.
- This marks the first Nickelodeon crossover game to use Unreal Engine 4.
- This marks the first appearance of both of the spin-off series, Kamp Koral: SpongeBob's Under Years and The Patrick Star Show in a video game.
- Almost all of the playable characters from Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl are also playable in this game, with the exceptions being Shredder, Nigel Thornberry, and Hugh Neutron.
- However Shredder and Hugh Neutron are in the game but not playable.
- Tommy Pickles, Angelica Pickles, Shredder, and Heffer are the only characters from Nickelodeon Kart Racers 2: Grand Prix to not return to this game as racers.
- Unlike Angelica Pickles, Shredder, and Heffer, Tommy Pickles is the only only character to not return as a crew member.
- The game's internal project name is "Nor."
Errors[]
- In the loading screens, Odie's name is misspelled as "Oddie."
- Jon's name is misspelled as "John."
- Ms. Bitters is misspelled as "Mrs. Bitters."
- Mr. Sunshine is misspelled as "Mr. Sushine."
Episode references[]
This game makes many references to the show.
- Atlantis, Mrs. Puff's Boating School, The Road Show, Jelly Meadows, Kamp Koral from "Atlantis SquarePantis", The Patrick Star Show, The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run/Kamp Koral: SpongeBob's Under Years and Boating School" and "No Free Rides" respectively, appear as tracks, with the former track being called Lost City of Atlantis.
- When the selecting the tracks, Kamp Koral from both The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run/Kamp Koral: SpongeBob's Under Years appears as the main menu, also next to GIR is the Hydro-dynamic spatula from "Help Wanted."
- The description for picking Patrick is the famous scene from "Big Pink Loser."
- Sandy's description is a reference to "Sandy, SpongeBob, and the Worm."
- On the garage section of the menu, Patrick is seen having wood nailed on his head just like in "My Pretty Seahorse."
- The sand castles in the Mrs. Puff's Boating School track are the same ones from "Sand Castles in the Sand."
