Nickellenium was a dual-day event that occurred between December 31, 1999 and January 1, 2000, celebrating the new year in two ways: the first day (Dec. 31) premiered four and a half hours of futuristic-themed Nickelodeon programming, including the SpongeBob SquarePants shows "SB-129" and "Karate Choppers" - while the second day (Jan. 1) aired a day's worth marathon of "Nickellennium," where kids shared their view on what life would be in 50 years (2050.)

- This was the last event to occur in 1999 and the 1990s decade, as well as the first event to occur in 2000 and the 2000s decade.
- The SpongeBob segments that premiered on December 31, "SB-129 / Karate Choppers" received a 16-year series ratings-low of 1.523 million viewers; the record wouldn't be broken until "Sanctuary!" was released 16 years later with a mere 1.28 million people tuned in.
