This short was done in Flash animation. This style wasn't used again in any SpongeBob SquarePants media except online games until 15 years later for a different Super Bowl short, the "Super Bowl LIII Halftime Show short."
This and the 2019 Super Bowl short were the only SpongeBob shorts to air during the Super Bowl.
This is the first short to play "Dancing The Hula."
