Synopsis[]
The episode begins with a book called Much Tofu About Nothing opening. Patrick, in a bard outfit, tells the story. In the land of Hamdonia, King Pork Chop is excited on the day his daughter, Princess Hamhock, will meet the man she is arranged to marry: Prince Shmeat. Shmeat shows up, but Hamhock is nowhere to be found. Messenger Sir Frankfurter comes in and reports that Hamhock has gone missing.
Hamhock is outside the castle, taking a walk with her dog, Greasy. She meets up with the man she truly loves, Tofu Todd, although Pork Chop does not approve of their marriage because he is plant-based. Guards bring Hamhock to the castle, where she tells her father she does not want to marry Shmeat. Sir Frankfurter returns with a book that says a commoner can marry a royal if he defeats the king's chosen suitor in a series of games known as the Feats of Meats. Todd challenges Shmeat so he can marry Hamhock.
In the first event, archery, Todd goes first. He struggles to use the bow and accidentally rips himself in half while shooting, and misses his target. Shmeat is able to hit the bullseye with his eyes closed. Next, for jousting, Shmeat performs badly and Hamhock comes up with a way to help him. She has Greasy run to the arena and shake grease into Shmeat's path, making his horse slip and buck him off.
During the barbecue battle event, Hamhock motivates Todd by blowing him a kiss. Todd performs well, but Shmeat takes out a huge chunk of ham and smacks him with it, making him crash into a stand of heavy objects. Hamhock realizes that Todd is now in no condition to fight and takes his helmet, covering her face so the audience and Shmeat still think Todd is fighting. Hamhock distracts Shmeat and opens up his can, exposing his butt to the crowd. Greasy places a banana peel that makes him slip and fall face-first into the barbecue.
Pork Chop is impressed and wants to congratulate Todd. Dizzy, he shows up and accidentally exposes that Hamhock was pretending to be him. Reasoning that Todd still lost the battle, Pork Chop forces Hamhock to marry Shmeat. The wedding is suddenly interrupted by Patrick's mouth showing up and eating everyone. Outside the story, Squidina hits Patrick with his lute and scolds him for eating beloved characters. Patrick spits out Hamhock and Todd into Squidina's hand and bits the audience goodnight. Hamhock gives Todd a kiss as the episode irises out.

Production notes[]
Danny Giovannini:
- In a Life in the Credits interview, Giovannini discusses his voice work in this episode. He did the scratch vocals for Tofu Todd in the animatic, and the crew liked it so much that they let him be the official voice actor. He was directed by Tom Kenny.[6]
Trivia[]
- This episode's title card and opening are extremely similar to that of "Dopey Dick," being live-action footage of a brown book on a blue blanket.
- Patrick and Squidina are the only non-Hamdonian characters to appear in the episode, and they get very little screen time, making it one of their smallest roles on the show.
- King Pork Chop not allowing Princess Hamhock to marry Tofu Todd because he is plant-based references the taboo against interracial marriage.
Dub facts[]
- In the Hebrew dub, Patrick's scary and threatening nickname in Hamdonia is "The Spitch of Doom," although in House Hunting Patrick's nickname is "The Pointed Mouth."
Episode references[]
- Hamdonia looks the same as it did in "House Hunting." Patrick's "Pointy Mouth of Doom" persona also comes from the episode, where it ate Hamdonia there as well.
Cultural references[]
- This episode's title is a parody of the William Shakespeare comedy Much Ado About Nothing.
- Prince Schmeat and various other characters being able to talk without opening their mouths is an homage to the Fleischer Studios' Popeye the Sailor cartoons.
- Greasy imitates Muttley's laugh after placing a banana peel to trip Shmeat.
