Synopsis[]
SpongeBob, Patrick, Bubble Bass, and a few other citizens camp outside the Infiniplex to see Mermaid Worm & Barnacle Barnacle Episode 6: The Bubble Blowers' Revenge: Part 2. Once the manager of the theater notices the campers, he explains that since the theater's staff are taking the day off to watch the movie, nobody else will be able to enter. SpongeBob and Patrick volunteer for the job, and the manager hires them without pay. SpongeBob tears tickets near the entry, while Patrick serves as a security guard of sorts, busting people who sneak their own snacks into the theater. Later, they run the concession stand, but make big mistakes, such as giving Bubble Bass an excess of butter on his popcorn.
The manager impatiently calls them into the projector room to spool the movie reels. However, they do not know which ones to use, and they end up getting tangled in the film. The manager then informs them of a 3D short playing before the movie, but since he is too cheap to pay for a 3D projector, he has them throw objects at the audience as it is playing. When they drive a car into Bubble Bass' face to line up with the short, the manager yells at them and makes them set up the next reel. SpongeBob and Patrick manage to get the film running, but they repeatedly switch between it and theater advertisements, making it appear as if it is a commercial in of itself.
With the reels set up, SpongeBob and Patrick take their seats, only for a man with a tall hat to sit in front of them and block their view. The manager comes out of the man's hat, and chases them around for leaving the projector room. However, Mermaid Worm, on screen, calls out the manager for his behavior. The manager jumps towards SpongeBob and Patrick, but they pull down the movie screen, trapping him inside the movie, and subjecting him to attacks by the film's protagonists. SpongeBob and Patrick eat their snacks from home while the patrons throw food at the screen, with the manager inside. The two enjoy the movie, but Bubble Bass, whose body has been largely eaten by rats, comments that "the ending felt random."
