Mount Climb-Up-And-Fall-Off,[1][2] also known as Mt. Climb-Up-and-Fall-Off[3] and Mt. Climb-Up-and-Stay-On,[3] is a mountain in the background of the Valentine's Day Carnival, and first appears in the episode "Valentine's Day."

Description[]

The mountain is more similar to a big cliff formation, rather than a mountain. It has a long and steep sand-colored peak at the top, with the rocks being colored pink at the underside of the mountain. Basically, as the name suggests, one climbs up the mountain then falls off afterwards. Downtown Bikini Bottom can't be seen though there is one street nearby the area.

Role in series[]

"Valentine's Day"/The World's Greatest Valentine/Deep-Sea Tales[]

When Patrick tries to find his Valentine's Day gift, SpongeBob suggests looking for it on the mountain. Patrick then climbs up and falls down the mountain several times, but doesn't find his gift.

Employee of the Month[]

After Marty gets fed up with SpongeBob and Patrick's antics, he pretends the bus is out of fuel and asks Patrick to find a gas station. Patrick goes the wrong way while looking for one, and accidentally falls off the mountain.

Find a Missing Star[]

As SpongeBob is cleaning the Krusty Krab dumpster for the mayor's party, he finds a discarded parking ticket issued at Mount-Climb-Up-And-Fall-Off. Having a gut feeling, SpongeBob convinces Squidward to search the mountain with him, only for them to climb up and fall off. SpongeBob changes the mountain's sign to read "Mount Climb-Up-And-Stay-On," allowing the two to search the peak for clues, where SpongeBob finds tire tracks leading to a cave.

The two enter the cave and discover Patrick being held hostage by Sticky Fins Whiting, Dorsal Dan and the Tattletale Strangler. SpongeBob jumps out to fight them but he and Squidward are quickly subdued. Patrick explains that he was kidnapped due to seeing the criminals bury a bomb near the Krusty Krab, and the criminals' boss, Karen, arrives to reveal that she plans to blow up the Krusty Krab as an elaborate surprise gift for her wedding anniversary with Plankton.

SpongeBob escapes his ropes and latches onto Karen, turning on her tracking chip. Plankton soon realizes where she is and tracks her down to present her a romantic date, questioning why everyone else is in the cave. Karen explains her plan and Plankton reminds her of the mayor's party, though Karen brushes it off as the party already happened. Squidward warns her that it was postponed, so Karen orders the criminals to dig it up, but they refuse, so Karen frees SpongeBob and Squidward and everyone sans the criminals race to the Krusty Krab to remove the bomb.

After SpongeBob removes the bomb, Plankton uses a catapult to fling it all the way to the peak of Mount Climb-Up-And-Stay-On, where it blows up Whiting, Dan and the Strangler as they exit the cave.
