Mayonnaise, often called mayo for short, is a condiment made of olive oil and eggs. It first appears in the episode "Nature Pants."

Mayo as a weapon

Role in series

Mayonnaise is a frequently used condiment in SpongeBob SquarePants. It is sometimes used on Krabby Patties, hence why there is a mayo dispenser kept in the Krusty Krab kitchen.

"Nature Pants"

Upon decision to move out of his house and live with the jellyfish in Jellyfish Fields, SpongeBob gives Patrick his many belongings that he will not need anymore, one of which is a jar of mayonnaise.

"Hooky"

Mr. Krabs tells the Bikini Bottomites about the dangerous story of the hooks that have returned to town. He explains that the fishermen reel sea creatures out of the ocean to either sell them in a gift shop or store them in a tuna can, which the only perspective of being in is the scent of mayonnaise.

"Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy II"

SpongeBob has trouble opening a jar of mayonnaise. He uses the conch signal to call Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy to help him, though they refuse and tell him that the conch signal is not a toy and should only be used for emergency purposes.

Mayonnaise is used as a weapon against Plankton's tank robot and all the customers want to hold the mayo from the Krabby Patty.

At the end of the movie, it is also revealed that Gary hates mayonnaise. SpongeBob uses it as a way to trick Plankton--who is disguised as Gary at the time to steal the formula--by giving him a Krabby Patty with extra mayo.

"Larry the Floor Manager"

Mayonnaise appears on a tray of condiments that SpongeBob is seen carrying while talking to Mr. Krabs about the customer policy addressed in the Krusty Krab Manual.

SpongeBob later uses mayonnaise as one of the ingredients to sabotage Larry's power shake, but instead of drinking it, he spreads it on his muscular body like tanning lotion.
