Markus Bäckman (born 1966; age 53-54) is a Finnish actor who voices Sheldon J. Plankton, Flying Dutchman, Realistic Fish Head, the mayor, captain (season 8-present) and many other characters in the series.

He is one of the few Finnish cast members to span both the original and new voice cast.
