"Livin' in the Sunlight, Lovin' in the Moonlight"[sic] is a song that plays in the pilot episode "Help Wanted" when SpongeBob serves a hungry swarm of anchovies a large amount of Krabby Patties. It briefly plays again at the end of the episode, after SpongeBob fires several Krabby Patties at Patrick that send him flying out of the Krusty Krab.

It was originally written by Al Sherman and Al Lewis for the 1930 film The Big Pond, for famous French singer Maurice Chevalier. It was covered by Tiny Tim in 1968 on his first album, God Bless Tiny Tim, which is the version that played in "Help Wanted."

Lyrics[]

NOTE: Lyrics in red do not appear in the broadcast version of the song.

Tiny Tim: Hello, my dear friends! Well, here I am on record at last! And it feels so wonderful to be here with you on my first album!
Tiny Tim: I'm so happy, ha-ha!

Happy-go-lucky me

I just go my way

Living every day
I don't worry
Worries don't agree
Things that bother you
Never bother me!
(chorus)
Things that bother you
never bother me!
I feel happy and fine, AHA!
Living in the sunlight!
Loving in the moonlight!
Having a wonderful time!
Haven't got a lot! I don't need a lot!
Coffee's only a dime!
Living in the sunlight!
Loving in the moonlight!
Having a wonderful time!
(end chorus)
Just take it from me!
I'm just as free as any daughter!
I do what I like just when I like and how I love it!
(chorus)
I'm right here to stay
When I'm old and gray!
I'll be right in my prime!
Living in the sunlight!
Loving in the moonlight!
Having a wonderful time!
(chorus)
(laughing to song)
Just take it from me!

I'm just as free as any Daughter!
I do what I like, and just what I like, and how I love it!
(chorus)
I'm right here to stay
When I'm old and gray
I'll be right in my prime!
Living in the sunlight!
Loving in the moonlight!
Having a wonderful time!
(end chorus)
Oh, isn't this a lovely band and what a thrill it is to have them play for me!
