In "Prehibernation Week," SpongeBob fell off of it.

Roads

Some of the roadways in Bikini Bottom include:

SpongeBob's pineapple house in Season 4-7

Residential

  • SpongeBob's house - SpongeBob's pineapple house. SpongeBob's house is a large pineapple and is three stories high and fully furnished.
  • Squidward Tentacles' house - Squidward's house that resembles the head of an Easter Island moai. The outside has a garage to the side, a door in the middle, two front windows on the second floor resembling eyes, a window on each "ear," and a back window overlooking the backyard. The backyard is closed out by the other sides of SpongeBob's and Patrick's fences. The first floor features a living room which includes a TV, a shelf, and a couch. The kitchen merges with the living room and is located in the back part of the first floor. It contains a table, a counter, a small shelf, a refrigerator, four cabinets, and other kitchen tools. The dining room also merges with the living room. It contains shelves, a table, and a closet. A hallway leads to a large walk-in closet. The only way to get up to the second floor is to take an elevator. On the second floor is Squidward's bedroom, containing a closet full of alarm clocks, a bed, and a nightstand. Attached to Squidward's bedroom is his art gallery, which includes many of his artistic creations, as well as the place he practices his clarinet. He has a door to a large master bathroom on the left "ear", which includes a toilet, a sink, and a Jacuzzi tub/shower. There is also a place to get up to his roof. In "The Secret Box," when Patrick states not even Squidward's house knows what's inside his box, the house stares at the box and in "Funny Pants," to block out SpongeBob's hysterical whining, and the house has two hands come out of the sand to cover up its ears. In Battle for Bikini Bottom, the house is mistakenly called a tiki.
  • Patrick Star's house - Patrick's rock house. This house is a half-spherical brown rock with an antenna on top. Inside, it varies between sand furniture, and real furniture such as a bed, bedside table, a TV, and a chair. In "Naughty Nautical Neighbors" there are several short wooden posts that are linked together by ropes out back, which is assumingly a fence, along with two garbage cans to the side of his house, and a grill, but the fence, the garbage cans, and the grill have not been seen in any other episode.
  • Sandy's treedome - A dome filled with air, allowing Sandy to breathe without her suit. It features a tree, with a bedroom inside, that includes her bed and bedside table; on the outside, there is a picnic table, an exercise wheel, and a birdbath. It also includes a garage as seen in "To Save a Squirrel." In "Squidtastic Voyage," Sandy's laboratory is shown, yet it is located outside the Treedome.
  • Mr. Krabs and Pearl's house - Mr. Krabs and Pearl's anchor house. This house is three stories high, with a basement and a garage.
  • Mrs. Puff's house - Contains a kitchen, a living room, a bedroom and a bathroom. Throughout the house, there are recursive images on the walls (images that are repeated infinitely within themselves).
  • Squilliam's tower - Squilliams giant tower house, the house has 2 layers that look like Easter island head, a balcony, a garden on the top floor and a flag that has Squilliam's face on it. The interior is quite fancy with things like a hot tub elevator, jewel-encrusted bathroom, gilded doorknobs, and a soda fountain.
  • Flying Dutchman's ship - A giant ship owned and inhabited by the Flying Dutchman. It contains the captain's quarters, crew cabins and the perfume department from a mall. It is also used as a means of transportation for occasions where the Dutchman intends to haunt and scare the Bikini Bottom citizens.
  • Harold and Margaret SquarePants' house - The home of SpongeBob's parents (may actually not be in Bikini Bottom as SpongeBob packed a suitcase to visit here) - the living room was the only room shown, however there are entries into other rooms in the background as seen in the episode "BlackJack."
  • Bottomite houses - Throughout the city there are basic, usually gray, cylindrical houses that usually have large exhaust pipes on the top. They are most commonly located in downtown Bikini Bottom, but can also be seen off in the distance behind many major locations such as SpongeBob's house or the Krusty Krab. They could be designed to look like car mufflers.

Public Services

  • Bikini Bell - Bikini Bottom's telephone company, a parody of the Bell phone company, that was mentioned in "Life of Crime." A worker from the Bikini Bell was also seen in SpongeBob's backyard fixing his phone line in The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie video game.
  • Bikini Bottom Fire Department - Appears in a few episodes. Due to firefighters being seen in the city in several episodes, there is probably a fire department. In the episode "Wormy" firefighters and a fire truck can be seen briefly. In "Revenge of the Flying Dutchman," a fire truck is parallel parked in the street. In one episode, the firemen are seen putting out a kitchen fire in the Krusty Krab. The fire started while SpongeBob was daydreaming about jellyfish. In the episode "Squid's Day Off," Squidward is an afraid that SpongeBob will burn down the Krusty Krab and he is passed by a fire truck on his way back to the restaurant. Although the fire station(s) have yet to be seen, the city most likely has a fire department as Bikini Bottom appears to be a fairly large city.

  • Bikini Bottom Realty - A realty company that Squidward tried to sell his house on in "Opposite Day."
  • K-BLUB - A radio station that appears in "Sing a Song of Patrick" that broadcasts in the Bikini Bottom region and city. The name may be an allusion of popular Christian radio station K-LOVE. It may also be related to the Bikini Bottom Radio station KRUM that was featured in the episode "Krab Borg." The DJ in the episode played a song called Electric Zoo for Mr. Krabs, the DJ from that radio station was voiced by Rodney Bingenhiemer, who works for a real Los Angeles Radio Station called KROQ, Rodney was also known as, "Rodney on the Roq" SpongeBob and Patrick played a record from atop the antenna. The citizens wondered where it was coming from and eventually showed up at K-BLUB. K-BLUB has an extremely tall antenna with satellites apparently flying lower than it. Its tower might reach the top of the ocean but doesn't go above. Its workers (along with the rest of Bikini Bottom) don't appreciate Patrick's song, which shows the station may normally play pretty decent music. When Patrick went inside the radio station one of the workers screamed, kicked him out, and locked the door.
  • K-OLD - It is a radio station heard in the episode "Mid-Life Crustacean."
  • KRUM - It is the radio station in Bikini Bottom that Mr. Krabs is listening to in the episode "Krab Borg." The DJ is the only known worker at the station.

  • F.E.M.A. - It is short for "Fix the Emptyheads Mess Again!!!" It is dedicated to clean up Bikini Bottom after the monthly meetings of The Empty Head Society. It is unknown wether or not this organization has a clubhouse.
  • Jellyfishers Club - It is a club that SpongeBob is a member of. A license for it appears in the episode "Doing Time."

Their clubhouse is a flipped cardboard box located next to the Barg'N-Mart. You can only enter by stepping onto the automatic doormat.

Former Establishments

For certain or unknown reasons, some places in Bikini Bottom are no longer standing.

  • Bikini Bottom Heavy Industries - It was a formerly standing building located in the downtown metropolitan area of Bikini Bottom. It was seen in the episode "Extreme Spots."
  • Black lemonade stand - It was a stand that sells black lemonade and appears in the episode "Ink Lemonade." It was founded by Patrick Star and run by him and SpongeBob.
  • Bubble Stand - A temporary bubble stand that SpongeBob built. He charged 25 cents for each bubble blown. He also gave lessons for beginners - 25 cents. Seen in "Bubblestand.”
  • Coffee - Seen in "Best Frenemies."
  • Flabby Patty Shack - The Flabby Patty Shack was a dinning place and a rival to the Krusty Krab. The only food they sold was the rival to the Krabby Patty, the Flabby Patty. It was really a trick by SpongeBob to get Plankton and Mr. Krabs to work together so they would be friends again. It only appeared in "The Other Patty." It was probably demolished or shut down after this episode, as it is never seen again.
  • Kelpshake - A highly popular restaurant selling Kelp Shakes that had several locations throughout Bikini Bottom. It was closed down after having been discovered to have an ingredient that causes you to grow green hair all over. The idea of them popping up all over is a parody of Starbucks.
  • Krabby O Mondays - A family oriented restaurant that replaced The Krusty Krab for a short time while Mr. Krabs retired.
  • Krusty Towers - A hotel that Mr. Krabs made himself out of the Krusty Krab. Seen in "Krusty Towers."
  • Lemonade Stand - It was a stand that sold lemonade and was run by Harold. It only appears in the episode "Karate Star."
  • Pretty Patties - A kiosk in front of SpongeBob's house that sold painted Krabby Patties in "Patty Hype."
  • Rippers Reef - As seen in "A Life in a Day," where SpongeBob, Patrick, and Larry destroy the island on a giant bow and arrow from crashing on it.
  • Rusty Krab - A retirement home that went bankrupt and was sold to Mr. Krabs.
  • Rusty's Rib Eye - A restaurant which was long before the Krusty Krab in Bikini Bottom. Seen in "Séance Shméance."
  • Shelly Superhighway - A large highway founded by Sheldon (Shelly) J. Plankton that goes directly through Jellyfish Fields. It was built and torn down in "SpongeBob's Last Stand."
  • Stinky Burgers - Stinky Burgers was a small store, with an average look. It had a metal roof of a low quality and the sign was orange with a bold yellow "Stinky," and a black Burgers text. Next to that was a dried out clam that was spouting out a smelly, fake breath. It had a small foghorn coming out from the left side, an ordering window and a door that only Stinky was able to enter. Inside Stinky Burgers was a kitchen, although nothing was shown inside. You did not eat inside though. Outside the cooking area were seats and chairs with an umbrella, shielding bad sun or rain. They were not of great quality. There was also an overfilled trash can on the right. The whole area was surrounded by a very low brick wall. The fact that Stinky did not put more work and care into his business is surprising because of his success, fortune, and "love for the kids".
  • Teenage Boy Museum - The museum that Pearl wanted to vacation at in the episode "Mr. Krabs Takes a Vacation." Right after she got there, the museum got demolished. It is not exactly known why the Teenage Boy Museum got destroyed, but it was probably because sales were low and they were out of money, so they sold the place and it got demolished. The location is right across from the Bikini Bottom Mint.
  • Your New Mall - Seen in "Skill Crane." This shopping mall was under construction, but knocked down by Squidward.

From Other Time Periods

Basic Prehistoric Era

Basic prehistoric Bikini Bottom appeared in "SB-129" and "Ugh." Features a jungle area and tall grass.

Advanced Prehistoric Era

Advanced prehistoric Bikini Bottom appeared in "Ugh." The water is very murky. A forested area features tall grass and trees with vines. Only three known structures exist: SpongeGar's Ancient Pineapple (contains a bed on the floor, with a rock on a bone shelf as an alarm clock. A cave painting of SpongeGar jellyfishing is on the wall); Squog's Ancient Easter Island Head (A key is required to get inside; it has two floors, the main floor has a rock with two thick sticks (one harder than the other) and the other floor is the art gallery where Squog painted a little bit); Patar's Ancient Rock.

Medieval Times

Medieval Bikini Bottom appeared in Dunces and Dragons. The water has a different coloration, shaded pale yellow.

  • Armor Shop - A store that sells and makes armor.
  • Farmland - Farmland spread out over the kingdom land.
  • King Krabs' castle - The castle. It Looks like the Krusty Krab, but is white. Where King Krabs and Princess Pearl resides. Contains a large dungeon area, a throne room with a guillotine, and the prophecy wall above the throne.
  • Planktonamor's tower - The tower where the evil wizard Planktonamor and his wife Karen lives. Contains a spiral staircase.
  • Village - The main village area. Contains schools, hospitals, a hotel and the following:
  • Viking King Palace - As seen in, "Dear Vikings."
  • Ye Olde Bowling Alley - Seen briefly in "Dunces and Dragons."
  • Ye Olde Folks Home - Seen briefly in "Dunces and Dragons."

41st Century

In 41st Century Bikini Bottom, everything is painted with chrome as seen in "SB-129". The future Krusty Krab was seen, which contains a normal kitchen, only everything is chrome. A can opener room (down hall and to the left) and a Time Machine (down hall and to the right) are featured as well. The Time Machine is actually pink and green with a Tiffany-style light fixture, and has a lever labeled "past" and "future", with a key and three buttons to the right.

From Other Dimensions

Nowhere

This dimension features multi-colored squares, in different places which disappear when lifted, and it comes with a blank white background. Mysterious voices lurk around and copy words that are said (while spelling them out using goofy fonts), and it is hard to get out as running around here will take you back to where you started, as inspired by The Matrix. However, the time machine is always right under where you stand (revealed in "SB-129"). The only known way to access this place is to destroy the time-switch activator in a time machine. Squidward is the only known character to have gone to this dimension.

Parallel Bikini Bottom

An opposite version of Bikini Bottom; the only known inhabitants are parallel versions of SpongeBob and Patrick. Parallel SpongeBob has been seen in several episodes, including "Wet Painters" and "Something Smells," while Parallel Patrick has only been seen in "Rule of Dumb" and "Roller Cowards." There might be a Parallel Squidward, as shown in "Squidward in Clarinet Land", however, he might just have been a fantasy created by Squidward.

The 9th Dimension

A dimension mentioned in "Big Pink Loser" and in a video game. Not much is known about this dimension, except that there are giant monkey men out to destroy it. Patrick's lifelong goal is to find a way to access this dimension, defeat the giant monkey men, and save its inhabitants. It probably doesn't exist, though.

The 8th Dimension

A dimension also mentioned in "Big Pink Loser." Like the 9th dimension, not much is known about this dimension, except that creatures are trying to destroy it. The creatures are known as the little monkey men, which are similar to the giant monkey men in the 9th dimension, but much smaller. Patrick mentioned this when SpongeBob told him that trying to defeat the giant monkey men and saving the 9th dimension would be a little hard in "Big Pink Loser." Like the 9th dimension, the 8th dimension probably doesn't exist, either.

The Doodle Dimension

This dimension is just a blank white space, similar to the Nowhere dimension. It appears in the episode "Doodle Dimension," where SpongeBob and Patrick accidentally become trapped in this dimension. They figure out, they can draw with the Magic Pencil. In this dimension Doodle Bob returns and fights a war against SpongeBob and Patrick.
