I gotta lay off the hot sauce...

Character

Lenny[3] is an anchovy who has appeared in many episodes as a background character, starting with "Ripped Pants."

Description

He is usually a light blue anchovy who wears a light tan shirt, making him look more like one of the basic blue anchovies from "Help Wanted." He is sometimes seen with a visible belly button in the first few seasons. He is also commonly seen with a white dress shirt with a red tie along with a black fedora, dark blue pants, and black shoes.

History

Throughout the series, despite usually resembling one of the basic blue anchovies from "Help Wanted," he is usually seen alone with other kinds of fish instead of appearing in a large swarm of anchovies, though he has also been seen with a dress shirt in many episodes, making him look a little less similar to the basic blue anchovies. He is also capable of speaking English instead of just saying "meep."

He makes his debut in "Ripped Pants" where he is one of the many beachgoers laughing at SpongeBob when he rips his pants.

He also makes another cameo in "Pickles," where his Krabby Patty is brunt.

In "Something Smells," he and his wife, Mable-Monica, pull a fishing hook down to the bottom to the ocean to escape SpongeBob's rancid breath, he is later seen with Clay and Nat Peterson.

In "Bubble Buddy," he is seen at the Krusty Krab ordering.

In "Wormy," he is seen showering during the chaos.

He makes multiple cameos in "Patty Hype."

In "Graveyard Shift," he is one of the many citizens walking in the Krusty Krab.

He is seen playing a trumpet in "Band Geeks."

In "SquidBob TentaclePants," he believes he needs to lay off on the hot sauce when he sees the fused SpongeBob and Squidward ride into the Krusty Krab.

He falls in love with Monica in "Lame and Fortune" when he realizes they are both eating their hats.

In The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run, he offers ice cream to SpongeBob and Patrick as a distraction to them when they enter Atlantic City.
