"Le Big Switch" is a SpongeBob SquarePants episode from season five. It is one of the most infamous episodes that has never aired in immediate broadcast.

Plot

One day, SpongeBob blows out a kiss, which is a real-live object, and Squidward chokes on it once he swallows it. Also, he romantically gives a customer his order: two deluxe Krabby Patties and coral fries. Squidward is disgusted that the Krabby Patties' delicious taste has made the customers lose their manners in eating it, and he cannot bear looking at the customer eating his meal with his mouth chomping off the food insteading of holding the food and eating it. Squidward steals it away from him and yells out it is a terrible-tasting disgust. The customer cries like a baby, but SpongeBob retreats him back by giving him back the patty, and SpongeBob disciplines Squidward unsuccessfully for doing such a arrogant thing. Before the customer finishes his meal, Mr.Krabs yells to everyone to get out of the restaurant. Nobody gets enough reason to leave the building, so he holds the restaurant, and shakes all the customers out. He reveals he's making a exchange program to switch SpongeBob to a Fancy! French Chef who is Le Schnook. A French chef steps out of the bus to work at the Krusty Krab, and he reveals himself as Le Schnook, who works from the Fancy! diner, and kisses men(showing he is nearly homosexual) because Fancy! has a rule to kiss men with no reason.

SpongeBob's new boss is a pain, who is always yelling at the chieves for the food that they do not perfectly cook. SpongeBob is ordered to cook a gourmet French dish, but all he can cook is Krabby Patties. He can't cook brown flour cookies in the oven, a vegetable cassarole, and just one egg that all turn into a Krabby Patty. Soon, the Head Chef gets a Krabby Patty into his mouth thrown. After the head chef tastes it, he no longer becomes an arrogant man, and becomes sweeter, respecting Sponge- Bob more and accepting Krabby Patties.

Meanwhile, Mr.Krabs and Squidward are confused over Le Schnook's new dish: a unknown mincy-brown square with a leaf that has the odor of a smelly gym sock. Le Schnook explains the dish is a odored-shredded gold. Mr.Krabs is worried that the gold is turned into a dish, and he insists cooking another recipe. However, Le Schnook is angered when the fancy golden chair he has ordered is a cardboard figure, the silver fork he wanted is actually plastic, and yells at Mr.Krabs: I cannot stand these conditions!!

At the Fancy! diner, the restaurant business helped by SpongeBob becomes a success, and a financial success occurs. However, the Head Chef wants to give SpongeBob the main occupation of working at the diner. SpongeBob then claims that he did not have to bring Krabby Patties to the diner because they belong to the Krusty Krab. All the customers grab onto SpongeBob's leg, but he pleads to follow him to the Krusty Krab, but they don't listen, so he must drag all of them to the Krusty Krab.

Soon, the Krusty Krab has gone bankrupt due to the fact Le Schnook closes down the entire restaurant. Mr.Krabs gets a message from Pearl that the house is being filled with the Bankruptcy Department Employees that are taking everything away from his house and the Krusty Krab. Soon, Squidward loses his job because his paycheck is cancelled. Le Schnook gives Mr.Krabs the bill that he wants him to pay for the expenses and work for bankrupting the Krusty Krab. Mr.Krabs cries and cries, wishing he had never done the Replacement-program, and all he wants back is SpongeBob. However, he hears him singing for him, and Mr.Krabs is warmed back that he has arrived. The Krusty Krab gets a Grand-Re Opening Convention for the ending of a terrible bankruptcy, and the customers eat the Krabby Patties off the floor. Squidward complains they need tables, but Mr.Krabs says that they can save extra money if they don't buy any. And we don't have to worry about anything else with the Krusty Krab again.

Cultural References

• The chef Le Schnook is a parody of the James Bond film villain(from the 2006 film Casino Royale) Le Chiffre, a French world-terrorist banker who is a gambling mathematical genius, and Le Schnook resembles Le Chiffre. They both desire nothing but money, and have unshaved hair on their face. However, the main difference between Le Chiffre and Le Schnook is Le Chiffre is a gambler while Schnook is a chef.
• The scence where every food(vegetables, brown cookies in a flour cup, and an egg) touched by SpongeBob turned into a Krabby Patty is a reference to King Medas, where everything he touches turns into gold.
• The plot resembles the novel The Prince and the Pauper.

Trivia/Goofs

• On the ending of the episode Le Schnook is a little bit smaller then on the beginning.
• This episode hasn't aired in the US for over a year, since the pair episode, "Goo Goo Gas" still hasn't aired there yet. Although, it was on the To Love a Patty DVD.
• Screaming is heard, but all of the people have their lips closed. How can they scream with their lips closed?
• Squidward said that Spongebob is 1,000 kilometers from Bikini Bottom. This is not true because the Fancy! restaurant is in Bikini Bottom.
• SpongeBob is shown he can only make Krabby Patties. This is not true, because in Rock A-Bye Bivalve, he cooked an entire steaming breakfast for Patrick Star, and another steaming breakfast for Squidward in Can You Spare A Dime?. Also, he had baked a cake in Party Pooper Pants.
