LEGO SpongeBob SquarePants is a series of LEGO building sets based on SpongeBob SquarePants. These construction sets use existing LEGO pieces to recreate the underwater world of the show, including pink baker's hats that represent jellyfish; special headpieces for the SpongeBob, Patrick, Mr. Krabs, Mrs. Puff, and Squidward minifigures; Plankton's face painted on the side of a cylindrical brick; Karen's screen made of a blue base plate; and a green cherry for Gary's eyestalks.

The 2007 sets were first announced on January 11, 2007. Heroic Heroes of the Deep (3815) and Glove World (3816) were released in August 2011. These sets were released from 2006 to 2012.

Trivia

Unlike the other characters, Plankton and Karen are not full mini-figures, and are instead single pieces with stickers for facial features.
There are two versions of the Squidward mini-figure, one with the regular LEGO head, and one with a new, molded head.
Sandy is part of the Glove World LEGO set. However, she has never been shown to go to Glove World before.
Gary's shell is orange in the set Adventures in Bikini Bottom (3827). His shell was changed to his original pink color in the sets, Good Neighbors at Bikini Bottom (3834) and Bikini Bottom Undersea Party.
SpongeBob is the only mini-figure character that appears in every LEGO set of the series.
The SpongeBob mini-figure has many different variations and faces in each set.
These LEGO sets were released over the time span of 6 years before the SpongeBob SquarePants license was picked up by Mega Bloks.
Various magnets were released along with the sets. However, they have become very rare and expensive.
