good hygiene. SpongeBob himself is the subject of the training, and throughout the episode is very eager to learn how to make a Krabby Patty, asking to several times throughout the course of the episode but being denied repeatedly. The episode ends with SpongeBob finally being told the formula. The narrator begins to say "The secret formula is-" before the episode ends abruptly.

Quotes

  • SpongeBob: (Repeated throughout the episode) Can I make a Krabby Patty now?
  • Narrator: And now we move to the front lines, where we’ll examine the most important aspect of the industry: the customer, or, as we like to say, the "Krustomer".
Patrick: (who has just walked into the Krusty Krab) Who said that? Are you a ghost?
Narrator: Like precious, precious blood in an animal, customers are what keeps the Krusty Krab strong and alive.
Patrick: (Rushes over to the register) Squidward, your ceiling is talking to me!
Squidward: Are you going to order something or just make friends with the paneling?
Patrick: (indecisive) Uh... I'll have an... uh... uh... uh... uh... (falls asleep)
Squidward: (Snaps his finger in front of Patrick and wakes him up)
Patrick: (wakes up) Huh? Who's that?
Squidward: Patrick, go be stupid somewhere else!
Narrator: Ah, ah, ah, Squidward. You know what Mr. Krabs says...
Mr. Krabs cutout: "The money is always right!"
Patrick: The ceiling is right, Squidward. You're not a very good employee.
Squidward: (Clearly annoyed) Fine! May I please take your order!
Patrick: I'll have a... uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...
Squidward: (Gets really mad)
Narrator: We'll check in with these two later.
  • Harold: I'd like to order- (screen freezes)
Narrator: Do you think he's going to order:
A. A sofa,
B. An expensive haircut,
or C. A patty?
Harold: (resumes talking) -one patty please.
Poop

The Poop

Narrator: Ah, poop! You never let us down!
  • Narrator: And now, you get to make, with your very own hands, the scrumptious, lip-moistening, spine-tingling, heart-stopping pleasure center that is the Krabby Patty! Are you ready? (SpongeBob nods furiously) Are you SURE?! (SpongeBob nods so furiously he almost tears his head in two) OKAY! The secret formula i- (episode ends mid-sentence)
  • Narrator: Remember: no employee wants to be a Squidward.
  • Narrator: Interfacing with your boss.

SpongeBob: Mr. Krabs, can I have a raise?

Mr. Krabs: No.

Narrator: Good job, Mr. SquarePants.

SpongeBob: Can I make a Krabby Patty no--

  • Narrator: But this did not happen overnight, because the store closes at six.

The Krusty Krab Training manual is a binder!

8 Klasky-Csupo logo appears instead of United Plankton Pictures logo. The Nicktoons logo remained. This was corrected in 2006. The reason the incorrect logos were inserted is that the show's closing credits were electronically inserted alongside promos for other Nickelodeon programming, followed by the show's closing logos, which were also electronically inserted. When the data was entered for this episode, the wrong logo was programmed in.
  • This episode marks the second use of Mr. Krabs' first name, Eugene, the first Krusty Love.
  • According to Season 3 special features, this is one of the most popular episodes in the series.
  • When (in the office) SpongeBob says "Can I make a Krabby Patty now?", they cut him off before he could finish the word "now" and they went on to Patrick.
  • This episode is number 15 in Tom Kenny's Top 20 on iTunes. His description says:

"P.O.O.P. – People Order Our Patties." Need I say more? That word being said repeatedly makes me laugh. Boy, am I mature, or what? A clever, outside-the-box episode."

  • P.O.O.P. has become very popular with youtube users making youtube poops on this episode.
  • The fish that yells "HOOPLA!" has also become a very popular meme.
    File:HOOPLA!.jpg

    The "Hoopla" fish.

  • Although SpongeBob seems to be learning how to make a Krabby Patty for the first time here, in "Help Wanted" he is able to make them with ease before being officially hired. However, it is most likely that this is a video for new employees and SpongeBob is the "bus boy", but is just acting.
  • The graph, which shows the financial performance of the Krusty Krab has the axis featuring the profits inverted. Meaning the larger numbers are on the bottom. So the Krusty Krab's profits are actually going down.
  • At one point, a young Mr. Krabs is humming the tune of "Blow the Man Down", the sea shanty the SpongeBob SquarePants theme song is based on.
    • The song was first heard (or should I say meowed) by Gary, SpongeBob, and Squidward (as snails) in I Was A Teenage Gary.
  • When Patrick hears the narrator, he thinks it is the ceiling that is talking, which might be considered breaking the fourth wall, considering that he actually heard the narrator in the first place.
  • The sign in the bathroom written in English ("Please, wash your fins") and Spanish ("Lave las aletas") is a parody of other similar signs found in public stores such as Walmart. The Spanish part of the sign is not a totally correct translation because it literally says "Wash the fins". A more correct translation of "Please, wash your fins" is actually "Por favor, lávese las aletas."
  • The music playing during the still shots of The Krusty Krab being shown is "Quest for the Best", which is a parody of Survivor's Eye of the Tiger.
  • The narrator says the Krusty Krab closes at 6:00pm. However, in The Graveyard Shift, the Krusty Krab closes at 8:00pm.
  • This is the 100th single episode.
  • Plankton's robotic Krabby Patty walker is seen in the Chum Bucket LEGO set.
  • When the spatula, cash register, straw and ketchup packets begin to spin around, causing SpongeBob's eyes to follow them, his nose is much shorter during the close-up.
  • When SpongeBob is seen in "Personal Hygiene", much soap appears, but there was never actually a soap bar, but there could be a soap dispenser somewhere.
  • Plankton's voice is higher-pitched in this episode when he is being tossed out, but in all others he can be understood.
  • When Mr. Krabs throws Plankton out of the Krusty Krab, Patrick and Squidward are gone from the cash register.
  • This is the second episode with no title card design. The first was SB-129.
    • Because in both the opening and in the credits, there was a black background with white letters and the same music from the beginning and middle of the episode.
  • In the second montage of still photos of the Krusty Krab, the ninth picture shows the menu which has "Krabby Patty" misspelled as "Krabby Pattie". This picture looks very similar to the one seen on Pickles.
  • Apparently, Mr. Krabs has a fleeting fear of robot overlords.
  • When Mr. Krabs says "Now 'ya gonna buy somethin' or just stand there? 'Cause there's a standing fee." He may be breaking the 4th wall.
  • This is the first episode with a different ending than usual.
  • In the very beginning, you can see the menu sign called "Galley Grub". In the Galley Grub, "Krusty Supreme" misspelled as "Krusty Suprem" , there's no price for "Krusty Supreme", and the text is distorted.
  • This episode reveals that Mr. Krabs may have a problem with excessive sweating as he was shown having easily noticeable sweat marks without doing much. Although this could just be a joke.
  • This is the first episode to reveal Mr. Krabs' naval past (other than his obvious mariner mannerisms)
  • When Mr. Krabs picks up Plankton to flick him out of the resturant, Plankton's speeded up voice slowed down can be heard saying "Felicitations Malfactors! I am in town to find my minions. And I know just how to speak their language". This dialogue is heard in Plankton's Army, an episode that comes later in the season.
  • When Krabs says "The money is always right," it is a parody of "The customer is always right."
  • On some versions, instead of saying "the secret formula is...," it says "the secret formula i..."
  • Mr. Krabs giving overly complicated names to simple fast food equipment (e.g. High Efficiency Liquid Transfer Machine is just a straw)
  • Running gag alert!: SpongeBob saying "Can I make a Krabby Patty now?" before being rejected.
  • The reason the tape ends abruptly is possibly as a fail-safe in the event Plankton gets his hands on the tape. However, it is reveled in two episodes from season one, "Plankton!" and "Pickles". It is also reveled on Facebook.
  • Another reason the tape ends abruptly is because people would also get the tape. If they (along with Plankton) get it, just like in "The Powerpuff girls rule!", they would have a fight.
  • In Indonesia, the end of episode is just "The Secret Recipe!"
  • There was a deleted scene (In one airing only) it skiped the hoopla fish and just there brick at him. It was also on youtube.com. Also this is obious to be deleted but it was never aired. It was going to have the fish making A suffering noise for the rest of the scene.
