A Krabby Patty is a burger-like fast food item sold at the Krusty Krab resturant which its recipe is kept top secret in the Bikini Bottom.

History

The Krabby Patty was first invented by King Krabs who lived sometime before the 12th century. They were first used to soothe the "jellyfish dragon" of the evil sorceror "Planktonimor" an ancestor of Sheldon J. Plankton. Thus the Krabby Patty became an "old Krab's Family recipe." Eugene H. Krab's mother also knew the secret formula to the Krabby Patty, even though she married into the Krabs family and probably was not a direct descendant of King Krabs.

Mr. Krabs made Krabby Patties since he was a young child with his best friend Sheldon J. Plankton, since the only place to get a burger at the time was at Stinky Burger - owned by a wealthy citizen named Stinky. Eugene and Sheldon wanted to go get a burger there, but Stinky did not like them hanging around his restaurant. Stinky's wealth inspired both Krabs and Plankton to make their own fast food restaurant, so they created their own restaurant in a dump which attracted no buyers. Old Man Jenkins, who was at the dump at that time, throwing away his unwanted scraps, became the first one to try the burger. But it was contaminated and knocked him out. The outcome of the Jenkins incident caused Krabs and Plankton to argue about the burger; when later Plankton tried stealing the formula, it ripped in half - so Plankton got his own batch of burgers and went to start his own business. Eugene Krabs' accidental recipe became a huge success. By combining the burger with the family's secret sauce (you won't believe what it is), he brought his family out of poverty and into riches. Soon Mr. Krabs decided to create a larger establishment, and renovated the failing retirement home, the Rusty Krab. He renamed it to the Krusty Krab. The Krusty Krab become one of the most successful restaurants in Bikini Bottom.

The Krabby Patty had been continually pursued by Mr. Krab's rival Sheldon Plankton. One time, after continually failing to defeat Krabs, Plankton used his last plan - Plan Z, and sold many Krabby Patties to control the Krusty Krabs customers. Soon Plankton's plans were foiled by SpongeBob Squarepants and Patrick Star. Plankton was sentenced to imprisonment. Mr. Krabs is improving his business every day.

Preparation

To make the Krabby Patty you must first, cook the patties at 298 degrees. Secondly, you must flip the patties over with a good spatula. Finally the Patty must be placed on a bun which is not pre-sliced with the rest of the ingredients.

Throughout the series, the the Krabby Patty is prepared with love, which is another secret to it's popularity. Use of magic and machines hides the passion and hard work that the Krusty Krab is supportive on.

Recipe

The recipe was first reveled on Spongepedia, but the show was going to show the formula when plankton was stealling it when sponge bob was in a rock n' roll band. at the Krusty Krab.

Fake Krabby Patty Recipe

This was the recipe seen in the episode "Plankton's Army". It turns out this was the recipe kept in the safe at the Krusty Krab. The real recipe was said to be hidden at Mr. Krabs' house, under his mattress. He probably moved it since.  The recipe is:

• A pinch of Salt
• 3 teaspoons chopped onions
• A cup of love
• 4 heaping pounds of freshly ground plankton

Jelly Patties

The Jelly Patty was invented by SpongeBob, and consisted of an ordinary Krabby Patty topped with jellyfish jelly. The jelly made the Krabby Patty taste amazingly good, and proved highly addictive to those who consumed it. SpongeBob let Fred try a Jelly Patty and was so entranced by the taste that he served Jelly Patties to the whole restaurant, who all were amazed at the taste. Mr. Krabs saw how good the jelly was and tricked SpongeBob into fishing for all of the jellyfish in Jellyfish Fields so that he could profit off of their delicious jelly. SpongeBob did so and soon captured every jellyfish in Jellyfish Fields, save for one blue jellyfish that had evaded SpongeBob's grasp.

After all of the jellyfish were captured, Mr. Krabs imprisoned them in a factory where he proceeded to drain them all of their jelly, sucking many of them dry. However, the blue jellyfish and SpongeBob caught on to this and freed the jellyfish, who zapped Mr. Krabs before returning home. Having been badly injured and having lost all of the jellyfish, Mr. Krabs took jelly off of the menu.

After that incident, SpongeBob promised to never again catch jellyfish for any reason but for pure sport. As a result, Jelly Patties have not been sold at the Krusty Krab ever since.

Pretty Patties

The Pretty Patties were invented by SpongeBob in an attempt to attract new customers to the Krusty Krab (They hadn't had customers in 36 days due to competition). SpongeBob sold them with Patrick's help after Mr. Krabs and Squidward ridiculed the idea. They are ordinary patties that come in six colors: red, yellow, green, blue, purple, and orange. There was also a plaid patty (Which proved popular with Scottish customers). Their wide range of colors is what appealed to customers and apparently made the patties taste even better than the ordinary ones.

The Pretty Patties proved surprisingly popular, as SpongeBob and Patrick received over 46,853 customers and made millions selling the Pretty Patties. Mr. Krabs saw this and tricked SpongeBob into trading the Pretty Patty Stand in exchange for the Krusty Krab so that he could get paid for selling Pretty Patties instead. SpongeBob eagerly accepted and Mr. Krabs became the sole proprietor of the Pretty Patty Stand.

Unfortunately, the Pretty Patties' popularity was short-lived, as they had several "colorful" side effects on their customers:

• Rainbow trails made while running
• Many More

The customers got angry at Mr. Krabs and demanded their money back, and chased him when he tried to make a break for it. After this, the Krusty Krab eventually received new customers, and Pretty Patties were never sold again.

Nasty Patty

The Nasty Patty was invented by SpongeBob and Mr. Krabs in order to get "revenge" on a health inspector they thought was a fake inspector. The Nasty Patty is a disgusting version of the original and tasty Krabby Patty. The ingredients are:

• One Krabby Patty
• Volcano Sauce
• Seahorse Radish (not the sauce)
• Mr. Krabs Toenail Clippings
• Toilet Water
• Gym Socks
• Buns

The Side Effects

The Krabby Patty also has a dangerous and unfortunate side effect. When way too many Krabby Patties are eaten at one time,the consumer will get very overweight. This happened to Squidward Tentacles in Just One Bite when he broke into the Patty Vault and ate too many Krabby Patties at once. Fortunately Squidward was only reduced to a living head and survived the explosion. However, if one does not have a Krabby Patty after an extensive period, he/she will suffer from Krabby Patty Withdrawal. If one does not eat a Krabby Patty during the withdrawal, he/she will whine about it for a few minutes and make a fake order for a Krabby Patty. Like Squidward did when he ordered a Triple Patty Supreme acting like a customer ordered it.
