Plot

SpongeBob SquarePants watches night of the robot, a scary robot movie when robots take over the world at night with Gary, and is terrified. He begins fearing a robot invasion, even asking Gary if he's a robot, and has a nightmare where robots are taking over the world and are chasing him. At work, he is very paranoid, and is under the impression that robots are "everywhere"(one turning out to actually a trolley full of sea potatoes, and another a red light that was actually the warning light for the fat). He later sees Mr. Krabs "speaking" in a robot language (actually humming to a song called "Electric Zoo" on the radio) and wearing batteries in his pocket (his radio broke and he was planning give the batteries to Pearl for her Christmas present), and suspects that he is a robot impostor. He then sees Mr. Krabs with metal pinchers (tongs he was holding an egg with) and glowing red eyes (he accidentally threw salt into his eyes while trying to salt the egg), which "confirms" his suspicions.

After collecting enough evidence, he convinces Squidward that Mr. Krabs is a robot. They go into his office, send Mr. Krabs into a panic and tie Mr. Krabs up, accusing him of being a robot and interrogating him on the location of the "real" Mr. Krabs. When he gives them no answers and becomes annoyed, they begin interrogating his machines, such as a blender, and destroying them, which greatly upsets Krabs, as the machines cost him money. When they come to the cash register, Mr. Krabs cries for it, which robots are incapable of doing, revealing that he isn't a robot. He also mentions laughing with it and loving it. Squidward then asks SpongeBob how did the movie end. SpongeBob reveals the end of the movie, in which the robots were all in their imagination, and runs off, leaving Squidward in trouble when Mr. Krabs becomes enraged and yells at the top of his voice "Grrrrrrrrr, SQUIDWARD!!!".

Squidward: We're just going to see what your little buddy knows.(He takes out a baseball bat)

Mr. Krabs: Wait, what are you going to do with my blender? That costs money!

Squidward: Where's Mr. Krabs? (The blender remains silent.) Not talking,huh? (Squidward smashes the blender with the baseball bat)

Mr. Krabs: No! That costs $24.95!

SpongeBob: Maybe didn't know anything.

Squidward: Go get the toaster. (SpongeBob gets the toaster and sets it on the table)

Mr. Krabs: No. Not my toaster! That costs $32.50!

(Squidward smashes the toaster with the baseball bat and SpongeBob gets the steamer)

Mr. Krabs: $62.67! (Squidward smashes a steamer with his baseball bat)

Mr Krabs: (SpongeBob gets a coffee maker) Fo...Well, that was a gift. (Squidward smashes the coffee maker) Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

SpongeBob: (SpongeBob gets the cash register) This is the last robot, Squidward.

Mr. Krabs: No! Not my cash register! My cash register... ...I got it when it was just a little calculator! Nooo! (Mr. Krabs starts crying)

Squidward: I thought you said robots can't cry.

SpongeBob: I also said they can't love.

Mr. Krabs: I LOVED IT LIKE IT WAS MY OWN!

SpongeBob: He he, at least he's not laughing.

Mr. Krabs:Ho- Ho- HO! I remember the laughs we used to share. UHO HO HO HO!

Squidward:Uh SpongeBob...how did that movie of yours end?

SpongBob: The movie? Oh yeah, the ending was great! Turned out they're weren't any robots after all. It was just their imagination... (SpongeBob giggles nervously) Hey, it's time to feed Gary! (runs off)(Squidward laughs faintly and pulls out a broom and starts cleaning up the mess)

Mr. Krabs:UAHHHHHH! SQUIDWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRD!

• (In the office with Mr.Krabs)

(SpongeBob cries when Mr. Krabs is being slapped by Squidward)

Squidward: SpongeBob, are you ok?

SpongeBob: Oh Squidward, watching you slap Mr. Krabs like that is too horrible to watch!

Squidward: No, that's not Mr. Krabs, that's Robot Krabs!

SpongeBob: Oh yeah.

Squidward: And the only way to deal with these robot types is to find out what they know.

SpongeBob: Right. (slaps Mr. Krabs)

Squidward: SpongeBob, you've gotta ask him a question first!

SpongeBob: Oh yeah. What color is my underwear? (slaps Mr.Krabs)

Squidward: SpongeBob, let me handle this. (To Mr. Krabs) Where's Mr. Krabs? (turns on a lamp)

DJ: Hmm, which one?

DJ: (Gibberish)

Squidward: Not the Navy! (over intercom) Attention everyone, run for your lives, robots have taken over the world! (The customers are uninterested) OUR WORLD! (Customers start to panic, scream, and run out of the restaurant.)

• KRUM, the radio station Mr. Krabs listens to, is the name of a real radio station.
• According to SpongeBob, the robots in the movie:

• The title is a pun on cyborg, or a being part human and part robot.
• It is revealed that SpongeBob is a hypocrite in this episode. This is revealed when he says Mr. Krabs is a robot because he didn't laugh at Squidward's joke, when SpongeBob didn't laugh at Squidward's joke either.
• Squidward talks about his father in the past-tense, implying his father might be deceased.
• If you look closely, you can see the costumers very close to the door and stopped while running away. That's when SpongeBob and Squidward are beating up Mr. Krabs and then tying him up.

• Interestingly, in Imitation Krabs, Spongebob thinks a robot is Mr. Krabs. However, in this episode, it's the other way around: Spongebob thinks Mr. Krabs is a robot.
• When Spongebob grabs the records, they were never used.
• Even though Spongebob was equally guilty of capturing and detaining Mr. Krabs, he only yells at Squidward.
