Synopsis[]
The episode opens with Perch announcing the annual Klopnodian Heritage Festival. The Star family walk around, and Bunny is excited to share her culture with her family. However, GrandPat resents the Klopnods after a failed attempt to conquer them centuries ago, which was so bad that a cream puff was named after him. Bunny has Patrick sample various disgusting Klopnodian dishes, and Cecil tries on a "Kiss Me, I'm Klopnodian" shirt that gets him chased by women. GrandPat prepares for revenge, but a kid recognizes him for his failure and calls him a loser. Bunny tells her kids that they will be undergoing a ceremonial family tradition. The orientations are segregated by gender, so Patrick and Cecil are sent with one group, while Squidina and Bunny go with another.
Patrick and Cecil are grouped to practice flop sweating. Patrick, who is "sweat shy," finds himself unable to do it. Even after Cecil has the elders look away, Patrick only musters a tiny drop of sweat.
Squidina and Bunny practice flyswatting. While Bunny and the elder women are able to perform it effortlessly, Squidina fails to hit even one fly. She throws the flyswatter in frustration, leading the fly to take it and hit her instead.
Next, Patrick and Cecil practice getting items off high shelves. Cecil holds a large pole, while Patrick sees star-shaped and circle-shaped blocks on a shelf that he is meant to sort into holes. Patrick puts the circle block in his mouth and slams down, creating a square-shaped hole. When Patrick gets the star block, he is swung rapidly by Cecil losing his balance. He slams into the block holder, forming a large star-shaped hole and injuring himself.
Squidina is then taught about the traditions of the "Klopnodian flag": a tablecloth with a mustard stain on it. To raise it, the elders ball it up and then display it. When Squidina throws the crumpled-up flag onto the hook, it unfolds, to the elders' horror.
Patrick and Squidina are brought on stage together, glad that their experiences are over. However, they have a final test to do, in front of a live audience. After a song, a starfish in a fly suit comes down. Squidina panics, and Patrick punches him into the audience. Next, a pole-holder raises Patrick up to a shelf with blocks on it. Patrick panics and jumps onto the shelf. The pole-holder prods him, so he throws a block at him. Next, Squidina is given the flag. Rather than raising it, she drapes it over a table and puts dishes on it, showing its true purpose as a tablecloth. Patrick climbs down the pole and lands on a heated tray. Bunny implores him to sweat, but Patrick is too nervous. Cecil goes out into the audience and gives a speech, asking them to turn around. Patrick strains hard, and is finally able to do it, spinning around with sweat coming out of his armpit like a fountain.
Suddenly, an armored GrandPat jumps on stage and announces that he is taking the Klopnods prisoner. A fly lands on him, and the elder women chase him with a flyswatter. At the end of the day, Squidina walks a fly on a leash, Bunny eats one of the "GrandPat Cream Puffs," and Patrick is still sweating out of his armpits. Cecil shows Patrick his underarm corks, and the family laughs. One of the women swats the screen with a flyswatter to end the episode.
