Squidward attempts to eat the food, but the Magic Conch Shell will not allow him to, nearly making him starve to death and making him angry. Eventually, a Forest Ranger arrives to save them and Squidward runs to him, happy that he's finally saved and tells him that he's stuck in the forest for weeks with SpongeBob, Patrick, and their Magic Conch Shell. Unfortunately for Squidward, him mentioning the Magic Conch Shell prompts the ranger to bring out his own Magic Conch Shell, to his surprise and SpongeBob and Patrick's delight. The conch tells the three to do nothing, and they comply; Squidward, still dumbstruck, complies as well.
Kelp Forest appears again when Mr. Krabs tries to get SpongeBob to take a day off from work. When Krabs has had enough of SpongeBob's schemes to sneak back into the Krusty Krab, he tells him that he will take him home. Squidward suggests to Mr. Krabs that they stop at the forest for the night. They only have one Krabby Patty left, and Patrick, Squidward, and Mr. Krabs want to eat it, but SpongeBob will not give it to them, as the Krabby Patty is for the Food Con.
