Incidental 81,[1] also known as one of the old fish coming down the stairs (along with Incidentals 82 and 83), is an incidental character who first appears in the episode "Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy." He is likely to be classified as an elderly-type incidental.
Description[]
He is a light beige elderly fish with a big light gray beard and wears a light blue hospital gown. He only has three hairs on his head, a visible vein on his forehead, and three irregular faded orange spots at each side of his head. The old fish coming down the stairs has the same appearance as Incidental 81.
Role in series[]
Incidental 81 has not made too many appearances in the series much like most elderly incidentals due to normally being portrayed as a resident at Shady Shoals Rest Home.

When Barnacle Boy calls Mermaid Man an "old coot" Incidental 81 assumes that he was talking to him and says "I'm over here." He is later seen walking out of his room at Shady Shoals Rest Home after being summoned by Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy and is also seen rioting towards SpongeBob and Patrick afterwards.

He was the elderly man in the original storyboard that wanted to ask Santa Claus for a glass of water for his teeth, but was replaced by Incidental 85 in the final episode.

He finishes a memoir of his life in red ink, but the red punch soaks the memoir, and due to it being red, makes his writing unreadable.

He is seen on a show SpongeBob is watching at the beginning of the episode where Incidental 47 reveals to her boyfriend, Jason, that she has a crush on Incidental 81. Jason then calls Incidental 81 his grandpa.
