Character

Incidental 40, also known as Baby 2,[1] is a dogfish who first appears in the episode "Ripped Pants." He is classified as a "hotdog" type incidental.

Names

Description

He is a cyan colored dogfish with reddish purple spots and has a dark blue dorsal fin. He wears a white shirt and a red speedo with a white stripe. He also has sharp teeth and black eyebrows. In his earlier appearances, he wore no clothing.

He wears a dark gray suit and pants over a pale yellow dress shirt with a magenta bow tie.

Baby 2

Incidental 40's baby variant from "Goo Goo Gas."

He is a redraw of Incidental 40's baby variant from "Goo Goo Gas." He is lime green colored baby fish with pale orange fins and scarlet lips. He also has a single tooth, dark green eyes, and eyelashes. He wears a diaper as well.

Personality

Incidental 40 has been portrayed to have a rather aggressive behavior many times in the series.

Though he doesn't really have a consistent personality, he has shown to have a rather aggressive behavior in many episodes throughout the series. Even more so then most incidentals who have occasionally shown some aggressive behaviors.

"Big, meaty, claws!"

Incidental 40 is one of the most commonly used incidental characters in the show. He has made many major and speaking roles throughout the series as well as minor non-speaking roles. In many episodes, he has been shown to have a rather aggressive behavior. He was firstly designed to be a Snack Bar customer.

Major roles

"Ripped Pants"

He is seen eating a burger at the snack bar, and SpongeBob tells him that "ripped pants" would go good with a burger, much to his annoyance.

"Hall Monitor"

He appears as a student at Mrs. Puff's Boating School where he is shown with a bored expression shown on his face near the beginning and the end of the episode.

"Walking Small"

SpongeBob gets sand in his eyes while waving a beach towel at all the beachgoers.

"Neptune's Spatula"

He is seen to be in charge of the bets at the Poseidome Colosseum where Mr. Krabs gives him a huge pile of cash to bet on King Neptune winning.

"Hooky"

He says that his Krabby Patty tastes like a fried boot after SpongeBob takes a break and leaves Squidward with the cooking.

"Your Shoe's Untied"

He claims that he is definitely leaving the Krusty Krab when he sees Mr. Krabs' underwear showing.

"Bubble Buddy"

He impatiently waits for Bubble Buddy to come out of the public toilet. He later appears as part of the angry mob and remembers his special friend, Boo Boo Keys.

"Patty Hype"

He tries a purple Pretty Patty and claims it to be the best idea ever. He later questions where Mr. Krabs went after he escaped from the angry mob.

"Grandma's Kisses"

She was one of the customers at the Krusty Krab that constantly made fun of SpongeBob getting kisses from his grandma with Squidward. She is also seen with Squidward at the end of the episode laughing at SpongeBob's crying at Grandma SquarePants' house.

"Christmas Who?"

He sees Squidward dressed as Santa Claus and raises his eyebrows at him twice.

"No Free Rides"

He is seen being run over by SpongeBob in Mrs. Puff's fantasy.

"Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy III"

He is seen at the bank, when Man Ray attempts to rob the bank, where he laughs whenever Man Ray laughs.

"Squirrel Jokes"

He asks SpongeBob "What smells rotten and puts people to sleep?" When SpongeBob guesses "noxious gas", he then replies "No! Your act!" He is also heard whispering "What he’d say?" after hearing SpongeBob's goldfish joke.

"Band Geeks"

He insults Mr. Krabs by referring to his "big meaty claws" which starts an argument between the two and eventually starts an argument with everyone in the band. He is then even dueling Mr. Krabs during the riot with clarinets until a colossal Mrs. Puff uses her cymbals to crash the two of them together. He later yells out "Yeah for the fireman!" after SpongeBob finishes his speech about helping out Squidward.

"Graveyard Shift"

He asks Squidward for some ketchup while he was telling SpongeBob the story of the Hash-slinging slasher.

"Sailor Mouth"

He appears as a pirate at the Krusty Krab with Pirate 3 and asks him if SpongeBob just said a bad word, and Pirate 3 tells him that he did.

"Jellyfish Hunter"

He is a salesman that appears to be stalking SpongeBob with Incidental 41.

"The Fry Cook Games"

He is seen opening the Fry Cook Games by lighting a torch on a giant hamburger. A breeze blows off his torch at his first attempt. He successfully lights the burger on fire the second time, only for him to somehow get caught on fire himself.

"The Algae's Always Greener"

An alternate universe version of him appears where he tells Plankton that some people believe the alternate universe Mr. Krabs crawled out of the deepest depths of the ocean. He is later seen doing the victory screech with Incidental 20 and Incidental 47.

"SpongeGuard on Duty"

He is seen splashing in Goo Lagoon with Incidental 14 and later appears demanding SpongeBob to get in the water and rescue Patrick after he tries throwing a life preserver to him.

"Just One Bite"

He orders a King-Size Ultra Krabby Supreme on a stick with a bottle of mayonnaise.

"The Bully"

He and a bunch of other fish beat up Incidental 85 twice after thinking that he was going to kick SpongeBob's butt.

"Krusty Krab Training Video"

He orders a Krabby Patty from Squidward where the narrator has the viewers guess what he is ordering by remembering POOP.

"The Great Snail Race"

He is one of the band members who play music for over two hours straight while Larry Luciano slowly slithers to the torch.

"Mid-Life Crustacean"

He complains about Mr. Krabs walking so slowly, saying, "Could you go any slower?" Later, Patrick rides on his back as he walks away from the grocery store, and he says "Get off of me."

"Born Again Krabs"

He is watching a movie at the Krusty Krab, which he claims has not even been in theatres yet. Later when Mr. Krabs becomes cheap again, he sucks the movie he watched right out of his eyes.

"I Had an Accident"

SpongeBob tells him to stay away from his behind, he then asks SpongeBob what his problem is.

"SpongeBob Meets the Strangler"

He is seen on Incidental 154's bus when the Tattletale Strangler attempts to strangle SpongeBob.

"Pranks a Lot"

He is seen being frightened by SpongeBob and Patrick who are invisible while on the toilet.

"All That Glitters"

He is shocked that someone ordered a monster Krabby Patty. SpongeBob walks past him while naked.

"Wishing You Well"

He and his girlfriend Incidental 104 explain to Mr. Krabs that you put quarters into a well and make a wish.

"Once Bitten"

He starts an angry mob against Gary the Snail when he bites SpongeBob.

"Wigstruck"

He mocks SpongeBob's wig with Incidental 47 and Incidental 67. He is later seen in a boatmobile with Incidental 42 wearing a powdered wig.

"Rule of Dumb"

Patrick takes his fast food due to being king which causes Incidental 40 to angrily claim that it wasn’t fair.

"Born to Be Wild"

He sarcastically tells SpongeBob and Patrick that he feels so protected now when he sees them posing as a biker gang.

"Squid Wood"

He tells Squidward that the Mini Squidward is better at dancing than him and he should try shrinking himself like Mini Squidward so he could dance better.

"The Gift of Gum"

He was one of the fish that was trapped inside Gummy and was later freed by SpongeBob.

"New Digs"

SpongeBob delivers his food to him quickly while he tries to avoid Mr. Krabs from finding out he was a minute late to work. He is later seen slipping on Gary's slime trail.

"Roller Cowards"

He appears in the Fiery Fist O' Pain commercial with Incidental 7 where he flies off of the fast ride and Incidental 7 calls out for him. He also appears as a Glove World! employee escorting Old Man Walker off the ride because he has a serious medical condition.

"Breath of Fresh Squidward"

He murmurs with other fish when SpongeBob disrupts Squidward and Patrick's pogo stick jumping. He also becomes concerned when he see Patrick's lights react to Squidward's electric fence.

"Money Talks"

He gets grossed out by Mr. Krabs smelly armpits during "If I Could Talk to Money."

"The Krusty Sponge"

He takes a photo of Incidental 107 beside a statue of SpongeBob.

"Sing a Song of Patrick"

He sells the angry mob pitchforks.

Picture Day"

He is hit with a ketchup filled balloon and warns SpongeBob about the teenagers throwing the balloons.

"20,000 Patties Under the Sea"

He is part of the mob that tosses rocks at Plankton’s submarine and later tosses burnt Krabby Patties at it.

"The Battle of Bikini Bottom"

He appears as one of the red soldiers that fill their cannon with soap. He also appears as a battle re-enactor in a blue soldier uniform which Patrick steals from him. He later suggests for the battle re-enactors to play hockey when they realize that re-enacting battles is lame.

"What Ever Happened to SpongeBob?"

He and Incidental 22 attempt steal SpongeBob's clothes and come up with the name "CheeseHead BrownPants" for him, but they get scared when SpongeBob shows his bottle of bubble soap and his bubble wand to them.

"The Two Faces of Squidward"

He appears to be blind, but gains the ability to see by Squidward's handsomeness.

"Banned in Bikini Bottom"

He gets shoved by Incidental 41 while waiting in line for the Secret Krusty Krab and the two of them argue over what shoving means. He then tells Plankton that everyone is waiting in line to get into the Secret Krusty Krab.

"Stanley S. SquarePants"

He is Stanley's first customer where he takes several photos of him and Incidental 40 together. Incidental 40 then gets annoyed and literally explodes.

"Not Normal"

He is seen at the Krusty Krab where Squidward tosses three Krabby Patties into his mouth.

"Sun Bleached"

He is seen at Craig Mammalton's party with tan skin and complains about SpongeBob's sun bleached skin.

"Giant Squidward"

He claims that Giant Squidward taught his grandmother how to read.

"Patty Caper"

He acknowledges SpongeBob's screaming coming from the kitchen when he discovers that the secret ingredient is missing.

"SpongeBob SquarePants vs. The Big One"

After Sandy's helicopter lands onto the beach, he thinks that she is a spaceman and threatens to attack her with a pitchfork.

"Porous Pockets"

He, Bert, Incidental 39, and Incidental 108 hang out with SpongeBob after he becomes wealthy.

"Choir Boys"

He shown to be part of the Bikini Bottom Men's Choir.

"Ditchin'"

He is seen at the Hug Festival with Incidental 49 where he apologizes to her with a hug after believing that SpongeBob was a threat.

"Professor Squidward"

He is seen as part Squilliam Fancyson's music class who is being taught by Squidward, however, when he finds out that Squidward is teaching the class, he and the other students decide to leave.

"Gullible Pants"

He is seen as a customer at the Krusty Krab where he first claims how disgusting the Krusty Krab is after SpongeBob messes it up, he then has all of the other customers head against the wall when SpongeBob started dancing in front of them.

"No Hat for Pat"

He is seen asking Patrick to point him in the direction of the Krusty Krab, however he accidentally points the Krusty Krab arrow sign towards the Chum Bucket which causes him to run towards the Chum Bucket instead of the Krusty Krab. He later realizes that Patrick's flopping has gotten stale when Incidental 107 points out that it has gotten pretty old. Later in the episode, SpongeBob uses his and Incidental 41's fins to cover up his eyes when he sees Patrick getting taken up to the high diving board and he blows his nose into Incidental 40's fin as well. He then claims that everyone gets to see two guys fall off the high dive for the price of one when he sees both Patrick and Squidward falling down, and he lastly demands a refund from Mr. Krabs after Incidental 41 claimed that he wanted to see them both get maimed.

"Sand Castles in the Sand"

He appears on the bus where SpongeBob taps his shoulder and tells him that he is going to the beach with his best friend.

"Truth or Square"

When SpongeBob was on his way to the Krusty Krab, he accidentally bumps into Incidental 40 in the back of the long line who scolds him to chill out and wait in line. SpongeBob then steps onto his head first to get through the line to the Krusty Krab. He later appears as the leader of the riot of customers who want Krabby Patties. He lastly appears arguing with Incidental 64 about crashing their boatmobiles into each other until the hear SpongeBob singing "Oh, Krusty Krab" and they head towards the Krusty Krab.

"Chum Caverns"

He is seen buying chum from Chum Caverns. He tells the cave dweller serving him that the food is horrible but the beauty of the cave makes it worth eating there.

"The Clash of Triton"

Triton destroys his boatmobile while zapping his name onto Bikini Bottom.

"Someone's in the Kitchen with Sandy"

Plankton tries to steal his Krabby Patty at the Krusty Krab while disguised as Sandy and he later calls Sandy a naked chipmunk when he sees her naked.

"Greasy Buffoons"

He tells all the customers at the Chum Bucket about the Krusty Krab's sign for Deluxe Krabby Patties with Incidental 41 constantly asking him where the sign is located. He later notices the sign for Ultra Chummy Patties at the Chum Bucket with Incidental 41 and Incidental 42.

"Model Sponge"

His food is delivered to him by Squidward but SpongeBob then falls face down onto his table.

"Keep Bikini Bottom Beautiful"

He comes out of his house and yells out "Trash day!?" after Incidental 82 mistakes Squidward as a garbage man. He then dumps his trash into Squidward's wagon.

"Yours, Mine and Mine"

Mr. Krabs steals his Krabby Patty and turns it into a Patty Pal.

"Kracked Krabs"

He is part of Mr. Krabs' video where he struggles to walk due to Krabs charging the customers a dollar per footstep. He is also heard complaining how he is going to get out of the Krusty Krab.

"The Curse of Bikini Bottom"

After he sees SpongeBob and Patrick as ghosts, he presumes that they are mermaids and flees the Krusty Krab.

"Squidward in Clarinetland"

Squidward rudely tosses his order onto his table right before he hears appliance noise coming from the locker.

"SpongeBob's Last Stand"

Two Incidental 40s are seen as part of the Shelly Superhighway marching band parade. He later appears in a boatmobile where a swarm of jellyfish emerge from a manhole, making his boatmobile rise.

"Summer Job"

Mrs. Puff runs into his table while rolling on a barrel.

"Gary in Love"

He shown to work at a pet store where he believes that Gary was a stray snail. He is later seen panicking when Mary's ex-boyfriend and his crew were destroying his pet store.

"The Play's the Thing"

He is seen chewing on Incidental 41's arm after the lights go out and the stage lights come on. Incidental 41 then gives him some salt to sprinkle onto his arm and Incidental 40 continues chewing it. Later when SpongeBob tells all the customers that they shouldn’t be tossing Krabby Patties, Incidental 40 says that he’s right and Incidental 42 tells him that they shouldn’t be doing that to their favorite food.

"The Monster Who Came to Bikini Bottom"

He is one of the police officers who were ordered to keep Rrarrg captive and later run him out of town.

"Welcome to the Bikini Bottom Triangle"

He appears as a coachman having Patrick enter a limousine.

"Sponge-Cano!"

He does most of the speaking on behalf of the citizens of Bikini Bottom while they are inside the Volcano Shelter. He is also one of the fish who carry Squidward over to the volcano so they can toss him inside.

"The Great Patty Caper"

He is first seen near the beginning of the episode where he acknowledges SpongeBob's screaming from finding out that they are out of Krabby Patties in the freezer. He later appears in the line at the Krusty Krab where he aggressively smashes the cash register due to Squidward not giving him a Krabby Patty.

"Karate Star"

He is seen working at a lemonade stand that got destroyed by Patrick's karate training.

"The Abrasive Side"

He appears as one of the fish who cut in front of SpongeBob at the bus stop line.

"Earworm"

He struggles to get his patty from SpongeBob while he was singing Musical Doodle until he places the patty on top of Incidental 48's patty. He is also one of the customers that Mr. Krabs refused to let exit the Krusty Krab.

"The Masterpiece"

SpongeBob comes between him and Incidental 41 at the Sea Chicken Shack line.

"Whelk Attack"

SpongeBob leaps on top of his table while entering the Krusty Krab.

"Tunnel of Glove"

He is seen riding a roller coaster at the beginning of the episode.

"Krusty Dogs"

He is seen with Incidental 105 where Incidental 41's Krusty Dog explodes all over their faces.

"The Wreck of the Mauna Loa"

He scolds SpongeBob and Patrick about everyone nearly dying from The Wreck of the Mauna Loa amusement park ride after the two of them claim that they enjoyed the ride.

"Accidents Will Happen"

He becomes disgusted from watching Mr. Krabs pop Squidward's back barnacles.

"The Other Patty"

He is seen with a Flabby Patty he purchased from the Flabby Patty Shack, he bites into it and a piece of it falls onto the ground, which causes Plankton to eat it and witness its amazing taste.

"The Hot Shot"

He is one of the students at Mrs. Puff's Boating School that was cheering for the arrival of Tony Fast Sr. and Tony Fast Jr. He also tries to get Tony Fast Jr. to sign his lunchbox, only for him to get into an argument with Incidental 45 and Sandals about signing their things. He also praises to King Neptune after seeing Tony Fast Jr. successfully teaching SpongeBob how to drive.

"Frozen Face-Off"

He is seen waiting in line at the Chum Bucket, which is now serving Krabby Patties. When SpongeBob, Squidward, Patrick, Mr. Krabs, Sandy, Gary, and Karen cut in line he tells them that he and the other customers have been waiting in line for three days.

"Squidward's School for Grown-Ups"

He drives past SpongeBob and Patrick in his boatmobile during their "game."

"Sweet and Sour Squid"

He is seen throwing fruits and vegetables at Squidward because of his bad clarinet playing.

"The Googly Artiste"

He was about to purchase a piece of Patrick’s art until Patrick runs out of rocks. He asks Patrick if he has anything else and Patrick then runs off under his rock to make something else. He then tells Incidental 49 and Incidental 73 that Patrick is so eccentric.

"Mr. Krabs Takes a Vacation"

He attends the tour at the Bikini Bottom Mint that SpongeBob and Mr. Krabs were attending.

"Barnacle Face"

He and Incidental 41 leave the Krusty Krab because of Pearl's crying.

"Smoothe Jazz at Bikini Bottom"

He is seen leaving the Krusty Krab at the beginning of the episode where Squidward opens the door for him. He is also shown to be the owner of the other lemonade stand at the concert where SpongeBob got Squidward lemonade from him.

"The Way of the Sponge"

He appears with Incidental 104 at the Krusty Krab and complains to SpongeBob about having an empty plate and SpongeBob realized that he forgot their fries. He later on gives the two of them their fries.

"Bubble Buddy Returns"

He is seen slipping on Shiny Bubble's soapy trail until he hits a table and gets hernia.

"Restraining SpongeBob"

A deep fried Squidward lands onto his hand and he nearly eats him until he hears Squidward screaming and he then tosses him towards SpongeBob.

"Are You Happy Now?"

He attempted to be the first one to climb Mt. Bikini. After SpongeBob and Squidward make it to the top first, he angrily leaves. He was seen again getting knocked down the mountain due to an avalanche.

"Planet of the Jellyfish"

SpongeBob sees him inside a Jellien cocoon hanging from the ceiling in the Krusty Krab freezer and freaks out. SpongeBob later bumps into his Jellien clone while backing out of the Krusty Krab which causes him and several other Jellien clones to go after SpongeBob. SpongeBob refers him as "random guy" in this episode.

"Free Samples"

He yells "Free Krabby Patties?!" after hearing Plankton say that he is doing so.

"Face Freeze!"

When he sees SpongeBob's lips on his food, he goes to the cash register to take his money back and goes somewhere else.

"Glove World R.I.P."

He is one of the fish in the roller coaster that crashes into SpongeBob's house at the beginning of the episode. He also appears riding the Glove Drop with SpongeBob and Patrick.

"Squiditis"

He appears near the Krusty Krab cash register where he at first becomes concerned about the noise SpongeBob was making in the kitchen but then decides to leave the Krusty Krab when he finds out SpongeBob is sick.

"Treats!"

He is seen working at a pet store where he tells SpongeBob and Gary that he no longer sells Snail Bites.

"Hello Bikini Bottom!"

He appears at the supermarket with Incidental 108 clanging two cans together to the tune of SpongeBob and Squidward’s performance. He later appears at the performance of Ned and the Needlefish where he sees SpongeBob and Squidward instead of Ned and the Needlefish and tells the entire audience to chase the two of them off stage. He lastly appears during the meteor shower where he claims the shower to be amazing.

"Extreme Spots"

Johnny Krill nearly runs into him while riding his motorcycle in a bubble.

"Patrick-Man!"

SpongeBob delivers a Krabby Patty to him and he tells him he hopes Patrick Man doesn’t compensate it from him.

"License to Milkshake"

He orders a milkshake at the Krusty Krab, however he became unsatisfied with his shake due to it being too hard and solid. He also discovers that SpongeBob's milkshake license has expired and demands a refund for his milkshake. However Mr. Krabs offers to have SpongeBob make him a new milkshake after he gets his license renewed at the Milkshake Academy. After SpongeBob graduates from the Milkshake Academy, he gets another milkshake and claims it is the best one he ever had.

"Squid Baby"

He gets disturbed by the smell of baby Squidward's dirty diaper.

"Little Yellow Book"

He is seen gnawing on the cash register with the other ravenous customers and then becomes amazed when he and Incidental 105 receive their Krabby Patties from SpongeBob on the ceiling.

"Jailbreak!"

Several Incidental 40s appear as prison guards at the Bikini Bottom Jail where they fill the gap on the prison wall that Plankton made with his soap bomb with several other prisoners, they however get stuck together in the gap.

"Plankton's Pet"

He appears at the Krusty Krab where Squidward delivers his Krabby Patty to him and Plankton disguised as a baby fish then takes his patty away and he allows him to do so. He later gets sick and faints when he sees Mr. Krabs rip the head of the baby suit off and then scolds Plankton when he learns that the baby was really him in disguise.

"Don't Look Now"

He, Incidental 41, and Incidental 45 appear at the movie theater watching Fisherman 4: Attack of the Hook where they constantly get disturbed by SpongeBob and Patrick's reactions from the movie.

"Kenny the Cat"

He gets an autograph from Kenny the Cat on his dorsal fin.

"Lost in Bikini Bottom"

He appears as one of three tough-looking fish that take over the old abandoned sofa that SpongeBob uses as a landmark. He is then shown to be a pedicab driver where he mistakenly drives SpongeBob to The Krusty Klam. He is later shown to give Patrick a ride to the Krusty Krab towards the end of the episode.

"The Executive Treatment"

His "B"/"BM" variant was one of the executives who were with Patrick in conference room 4B.

"The Sewers of Bikini Bottom"

He and Incidental 60 were the last two fish to leave the stadium seats and head to the bathroom. He is later seen as a baby trying to row his baby carriage away from the flood.

"Two Thumbs Down"

He is seen as a magician doing magic tricks during the thumbs song.

"Goodbye, Krabby Patty?"

He is seen at the Krusty Krab near the end of the episode where he is pleased about Krabby Patties going back to their original taste.

"Larry the Floor Manager"

He is seen outside the Krusty Krab craving a Krabby Patty with many other fish.

"Squid Noir"

He is seen at the Krusty Krab where he uses his eyes to cover his ears from Squidward's clarinet playing.

"High Sea Diving"

He attempts to sacrifice Incidental 104 after the Bikini Bottomites believe they have upset King Neptune.

"Moving Bubble Bass"

He is one of the babies that SpongeBob and Patrick encounter while moving Bubble Bass's belongings.

"Jolly Lodgers"

He appears as the one who wears the jellyfish mascot costume at the Jellyfisher's Convention, which Squidward steals so he can try sneaking out of the convention unnoticed.

"SpongeBob's Big Birthday Blowout"

He tries to eat some of SpongeBob's birthday cake along with Grubby Grouper, but Sandy yanks the cake out of their mouths.

"Handemonium"

Incidental 151 asks him for a toy, but he tells him he already has one of those toys at home. He then freaks out when he realizes that he was really referring to the Chum Bucket glove.

"Food PBFFT! Truck"

He is seen in the Krusty Krab line where Mr. Krabs swipes his money from his hand. He is also seen standing in an open space with other Bikini Bottom citizens where SpongeBob and Squidward attempt to pull their food truck up to them until a taco truck arrives and pushes them away.

"Say Awww!"

He tries to stop Q.T.-π by tossing a barrel at the robot duck, but it fails and he ends up getting eaten by it.

"The Yard Sale"

He is seen in the crowd from Ancient Rome times in many scenes alongside Incidental 96 and Incidental 111, and is later seen as an elder along with the two of them.

"Patrick's Alley"

Baby 2 appears as one of the babies that Patrick and Squidina were assigned to babysit throughout the episode. A pair of Baby 2s also appear as twins with Incidental 42 and Incidental 45 as their parents where the two babies have their parents bang their heads into each other. Incidental 40 is seen as a parent dropping off Incidental 102BABY to Squidina and Patrick and she rips his face off with her lollipop.
