Match point, SpongeBob.
— Incidental 17, "Snail Mail"

Incidental 17[1] is a fish citizen who appears in several episodes, starting with "Ripped Pants." He is classified as a "inbetween" type incidental.

He is a light orange fish with dark orange fins and legs. He wears a black and white horizontal-striped swim suit, black shoes, and a light green hat with a black stripe. His whole outfit is reminiscent of the men's bathing suits worn from roughly the 1880s, through around the 1930s in the western world. In "Call the Cops," he does not wear his hat.

Role in series

"Ripped Pants"

He appears watching the weightlifting competition at Goo Lagoon.

"A Flea in Her Dome"

He is sucked into Sandy's treedome along with Incidental 14 and Incidental 15.

"Snail Mail"

He appears as a referee in a tennis match between Incidental 48 and Incidental 47. However the plane that SpongeBob was flying takes him, Incidental 48, and the court on top of the plane. SpongeBob then beats Incidental 48 at the game of tennis and Incidental 17 says that SpongeBob got the match point.

"Cuddle E. Hugs"

He was the first customer to angrily exit the Krusty Krab after everyone gets eaten by Cuddle E. Hugs.

"Call the Cops"

He angrily leaves the Krusty Krab when SpongeBob yells out the Krabby Patties will taste like chum. Mr. Krabs tries to drag him back in by grabbing the back of his shirt but he managed to exit the restaurant.

  • He is the only incidental character on the incidental model sheet to be surrounded by a light blue background while all the others are surrounded by a white background.[2]
