"House Sittin' for Sandy" is a SpongeBob SquarePants episode from season 8. In this episode, SpongeBob agrees to be Sandy's house sitter, but things go wrong when Patrick arrives.

Characters[]

Synopsis[]

The episode begins with SpongeBob going to work, only to realize it is Sunday. When he goes back to bed, Sandy calls him to house-sit her house, and he comes right away, but not wearing his water helmet for some reason. Sandy tells him about all the things he has to do while she is gone, and then leaves for the bus going her Inventor's Convention.

SpongeBob starts doing everything Sandy asked him to do. At some point, he sees that a worm is about to hatch, but it turns out to just be Patrick. After he reminds SpongeBob to wear his water helmet, SpongeBob asks him to exit the treedome. Patrick at first is excited and wants to go somewhere fun, but SpongeBob has to stay in the treedome to house-sit. Patrick convinces SpongeBob that he should stay and tells him he should just sit down and do nothing while he house-sits.

That's a lot of robot havoc.

After a while, SpongeBob gets annoyed with Patrick (forgetting what he was going to ask) and ends up dropping a flask, which rolls into the robot warehouse. This causes the robots to awaken and cause havoc and destruction on the treedome. Right after, Sandy appears and it seems as if she's going to zap and kill the two with a ray gun, but to their surprise, she instead fixes the treedome with it. She presents to them her rubble reverser ray which she made at the convention and reveals she was expecting SpongeBob and Patrick to destroy the treedome the whole time so she could test the ray. The three cheer, but SpongeBob accidentally drops the flask again and causes all the havoc to start again. The episode ends with a robot destroying Sandy's ray blaster right when she is about to reverse the damages, causing her to get mad at SpongeBob and Patrick as they escape the treedome, as the episode ends.

165a Episodenkarte-Der Hüter der Baumkuppel (original title card)

Original title card.

165a

Alternate title card.

  • In the German dub, this episode is called "Der Hüter der Baumkuppel," which translates to "The Guardian of the Treedome."
    • Additionally, in Germany, this episode has two title cards both of which use a different font.
  • When SpongeBob and Patrick scream thinking they're about to be killed by Sandy's laser, they are positioned almost the same way as they were when they saw Man Ray in "Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy III."
  • SpongeBob spends the whole first half of the episode without a water helmet in Sandy's treedome, and it wasn't until Patrick appears and reminds him does he dehydrate.
  • The title card of this episode is similar to those of "Dumped," "Patrick SmartPants," "Penny Foolish," and "The Masterpiece."
  • The plot of this episode is similar to "Wormy", as both episodes involve SpongeBob and Patrick watching over Sandy's treedome while Sandy is away. Unlike "Wormy", Sandy comes back to Sandy's treedome at the end of the episode.

Errors[]

  • When Sandy aims the rubble reversal ray, SpongeBob is holding the beaker. When Sandy fires it and SpongeBob and Patrick scream before the beam goes over them, SpongeBob is not holding the beaker. Then when the treedome is fixed, SpongeBob is holding the beaker again.
  • When SpongeBob dehydrates, Patrick is holding a water helmet without spilling before putting it on SpongeBob.
