Horace's disguise as Mr. Magic

Horace B. Magic is a greedy, selfish, and unkind businessman. He seems to care about money more than his customers like Mr. Krabs. SpongeBob finds out that he is a liar. Horace calls the security to have SpongeBob and Patrick kicked out.

Despite his rude ways, he offered SpongeBob a full refund for his magic kit. He seems to only care about making money by selling kids fake magic kits. He lives at 1942 Wizard Street, Bikini Bottom. His disguise is that of a floating fish head.

Role in series

"Hocus Pocus"

He appears when Patrick opens a curtain in the location where Mr. Magic supposedly is. SpongeBob and Patrick then find out that Mr. Magic isn't real and that Horace does this for profit. SpongeBob calls him a corrupt businessman to which he responds by calling security to throw them out.

"Krusty Katering"

He is seen attending Ms. Mildred's party, and is first seen swinging from a chandelier during the big food fight. He is later seen watching Mr. Krabs get launched out of Ms. Mildred's mansion via fireworks.

  • He acts like the complete opposite of Mr. Magic, who is the person he plays as.
  • He is based on the Wizard of Oz, more accurately, the human who pretended to be him.
  • He seems to be a parody of businessmen who care only about making money by selling fake products.
  • His name can be read as "Horace be magic," which is ironic due to neither he nor his Mr. Magic persona actually being magical.
  • There was a decade/ten-year gap between his first appearance in the 2007 episode "Hocus Pocus" and his returning appearance in the 2017 episode "Krusty Katering."
