"Home ECCH!" is a The Patrick Star Show episode from season 1. In this episode, in order to pass a home economics class, Squidina hosts a television show.

Synopsis[]
Squidina shows the teacher her project.
At the Bikini Bottom School, a teacher is sampling his student's cooking for home ec. The first two are good, but he comes to Squidina, who presents a messy and disgusting-looking dish called pickle pie. Her teacher is hesitant to try it, recalling her past dangerous projects. Squidina convinces him, and after one taste, he is taken to the hospital.
Squidina sadly comes home and tells Patrick about her problem. She shows her report card and shows that she needs a higher grade, or else she will go to summer school. Patrick suggests that she do something she is good at, like running his show. Patrick dresses up like Squidina to operate the camera while she is on stage. So her teacher can watch the show, Patrick runs to his hospital bed and sets up a mirror in front of it.
Squidina's segment, titled Home Ink, starts with her showing how to make a bed. However, GrandPat is already sleeping on it, and she is unable to wake him up. She and Patrick settle for using GrandPat's skin as the blanket, stapling it to the ends of the bed. Squidina's teacher is disgusted and has a heart attack.
Next, Squidina does a table-setting segment, with Cecil's help. Cecil tells her that she has to sort out and set many forks, dumping in a large pile of them. Squidina sets them on the table, which goes so far that it stretches out of the house. Patrick follows after it with his camera, but gets wrapped up in the blanket and rolls away. When Squidina correctly identifies that the last "fork" she has to place is a spoon, Cecil celebrates with her. However, Patrick rolls over and smashes into both of them. After waking up, the teacher sees Patrick, Squidina, and Cecil with forks impaled in them, and passes out again.
Squidina recaps her past events: sewing, caring for a baby, and telephone etiquette, all of which went wrong. She holds a cooking segment and attempts to correct her first recipe: a pickle pie. However, before she can start, she loses hope and breaks down crying. Slappy, who was sewn to the ceiling during an early project, notices and offers her some advice for the recipe. By following Slappy's instructions, Squidina makes a perfect pickle pie. Patrick rushes her over to the hospital so her teacher can taste it.
Squidina performs surgery on her teacher.
In the hospital, Squidina runs in on her teacher's soul almost leaving his body. In desperation, she tries to shake him awake. However, she notices implements around the hospital that she recognizes from her earlier projects: forks, a needle and thread, and appliances. She sets out to manually do surgery on her teacher: using a fork to remove his organs, a vacuum to remove his stomach contents, and then dumps the organs back in. She uses staples and a sewing machine to cure the incision. Her teacher comes back to life and is happy that Squidina saved him.
Squidina takes out her finished pickle pie and offers it to her teacher. He is hesitant to taste it, but at the doctors' suggestion, takes a taste. To his surprise, he enjoys it, and he tells Squidina that it deserves an A+. However, he notices that it contains gluten and suffers an allergic reaction, much to Squidina's worry.

Storyboards from this episode were revealed on December 9, 2022 after storyboard artist Leo Garcia was asked via e-mail for samples of his work that were later publicly posted.

- This episode was originally called "Home Ecch,"[12][13][14][2][1] with the difference in the current title being that the word "ecch" is spelt in all capitals and with an explanation point.
- In the UK and Ireland, this show preceded the premiere of another Nickelodeon show, Rubble & Crew, a spin-off of PAW Patrol.
- This episode was paired up with a rerun of "A Space Affair to Remember" during the original American airing.[15]
Episode references[]
- The gag in which Squidina's home economics teacher tastes the pickle pie, and a ambulance is seen, yet he's revealed to be fine is similar to the gag in "Born Again Krabs" where Mr. Krabs is about to eat a rotten patty, and an ambulance is subsequently seen passerby, but he's still fine.
- Patrick goes "Wee-woo! Wee-woo!" on the ride to the hospital as he had done in "Hall Monitor" on the main series.

- The title of this episode is a play on the shortened name of home economics, commonly known as "home ec."
