Character

Harold, also known as Incidental 36 and the fish roasting marshmallow, is an incidental character who first appears in the episode "Ripped Pants." His incidental type is currently unknown, although he is known to not be a "hotdog."

Description[]

Evolution of Harold's default design.

He is a chubby cheeked red-orange fish with light orange fins and lips. He wears teal swim trunks with yellow flowers, and a white lace. In his older appearances, his legs were red-orange, and he wore a teal speedo. In his even older appearances, he lacked his nostrils and the lace on his swim trunks, and his dorsal fin was much longer and touched the back of his head.

Names[]

Harold is the only generic name Incidental 36 has been given in the franchise. It was used in "To Love a Patty."

Role in series[]

Harold is a fairly commonly used incidental character. He has made many notable appearances as well as minor ones. He was firstly designed to be a beachgoer that allows SpongeBob to have some of his marshmallows.

He appears as a certified foot masseur where Squidward calls him to do a pedicure at his house. However, when he arrives at Squidward's house, SpongeBob and Patrick are the only ones present in the house while Squidward was taken away by Incidental 104 and Incidental 105. SpongeBob decides to test Harold to see if he really is a foot masseur and not a threat to Squidward. When Squidward returns to his house, he finds Harold giving SpongeBob and Patrick pedicures. Squidward then orders Harold to give him a pedicure but Incidental 36 informs Squidward that his hour is up and leaves.

He is seen amazed by SpongeBob and Squidward's fusion while the camera slowly pans across the audience at the recital.

He is seen panicking when Pearl enters the Krusty Krab crying.

He is shown sitting at the Krusty Krab with Incidental 63 at night. The latter complains about him releasing an awful smell, which he denies. It is then revealed that the foul odor was caused by the rotten nature of SpongeBob's Patty which causes him and Incidental 63 to leave the Krusty Krab.

"Breath of Fresh Squidward"[]

He murmurs with other fish when SpongeBob disrupts Squidward and Patrick's pogo stick jumping. He also becomes concerned when he see Patrick's lights react to Squidward's electric fence.

"Sing a Song of Patrick"[]

He is seen at Goo Lagoon with Incidental 14 listening to Patrick's song on their radio. Harold tells Incidental 14 that Patrick's song makes him think of her, but when the song sings the line "PU what's that horrible smell?" Incidental 14 angrily punches Harold into the distance.

He fights with Incidental 37A over a piece of Squidward's shirt. Harold manages to get the shirt when Incidental 37A gets distracted by Squidward's clarinet playing. Harold then excitedly claims that Squidward was playing the clarinet after everyone was questioning where the clarinet song was coming from.

He is seen sitting next to Incidental 37B at the Chum Coliseum in several scenes.

He becomes shocked when steel barriers cover the Krusty Krab.

He is one of the customers Mr. Krabs waves a Krabby Patty in front of, making him drool.

He is shown eating spinach in chocolate spaghetti in calamari sauce, then Patrick comes in and does a karate chop on his food, causing it to splatter all over his face.

He is one of the fish in the roller coaster that crashes into SpongeBob's house at the beginning of the episode. He is also shown in the bumper boat ride aggressively arguing with Incidental 1D to move over, but he is unable to move over due to there being too many boats in the ride.

He is part of the jet ski pyramid that collapses when Patrick runs into it with a goo bubble. He also appears on television approving of the goo bubble.

He is the first volunteer to try Sandy's food, before SpongeBob and Patrick. After eating it, his head swells up like balloon.

Mr. Krabs finds Squidward hitting Harold with a spatula in the boat's rearview mirror and assumes that Harold will file a lawsuit against him.

He starts to lose his patience while waiting for Squidward to take his order, who is talking on the phone. While Squidward gives him his order, as he is sick, he accidentally sneezes all over it, which grosses him out, and he leaves.

SpongeBob and Patrick crash on top of his table during the thumb war at the Krusty Krab, although he manages to run away before they crashes into him.

He appears as one of the many customers who watch ChefBob and tells ChefBob to make an insult towards him. ChefBob then insults him by shooting an arrow with a suction cup at the tip on his forehead which reveals a sign claiming that he is a "goober." He laughs at first but he then sheds a single tear.

He appears at the Krusty Krab when Sandy's submarine crashes through it.

He was one of the customers who was forced to eat at the Chum Bucket after the Krusty Krab only allowed pets. But he and all the other customers got the idea to sneak into the Krusty Krab disguised as pets. Harold disguises himself as a sea snail.

He appears as the guard of the nudist camp where Mr. Krabs walks up to him and assumes that he is nude himself. Harold then reveals that he is only half nude with pants on and that he is "the bridge between the clothed and the unclothed."

He appears as a glass mover with Incidental 112 where they are seen moving a large piece of glass together onto the lake and SpongeBob nearly shatters it while zooming on a canoe. But after he misses it, the two fish sigh in relief and accidentally sink the piece of glass to the bottom of the lake.
