- This is the first SpongeBob VHS tape to be holiday-themed and the first to have the White Screen of Death (the version with the red bars).
- While Undersea Antics Volume 1 is first SpongeBob VHS tape to use the 2002 Paramount logo, this DVD release is the first to use the logo.
- The promo for this VHS also advertises the Rugrats: Halloween DVD/VHS.
- This is the first SpongeBob VHS tape that only features the first five episodes from the Halloween DVD, without having another VHS tape with the remaining episodes from the DVD.
- This VHS tape includes previews for other Nickelodeon material: SpongeBob DVDs and videos, Nickelodeon Halloween videos, and a promo for Nick Jr. tapes, the home video trailer for Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius, and a teaser for Charlotte's Web 2: Wilbur's Great Adventure. This makes it the rarest SpongeBob video to date to have those previews.
- This and the Sea Stories tape are the only SpongeBob VHS tapes to have a promo for a Nick Jr. product.
- The DVD version lacks these previews.
- This VHS tape was released two months before October despite being Halloween-themed.
