Gunther is a small, five-pointed, yellow baby star with one tooth, wearing a white diaper.
Role in episode[]
For his birthday, SpongeBob and Sandy give Patrick a certificate for adopting a baby star in space. Patrick looks at the star in the sky through a telescope and gets disappointed from his gift. The star falls from the sky at night, and Patrick finds it and names it Gunther. After Gunther burns Patrick a few times, Sandy gives him a pair of oven gloves and a baby carrier to put the star in.
Next day, Patrick takes Gunther to Larry, who invites them to join his sauna session. Gunther overheats the room and shines so brightly that everyone inside shrinks. Later, Patrick heads to the Yacht cabin, where Gunther poops diamonds after eating a piece of coal from Regigilled's barbecue. Missy Upturn, Rea and Roh offer gold bars to buy Gunther, but he eats them all and flatulates gold dust at them, covering them with gold.
Gunther meets baby Pearl and wants to play with her, so SpongeBob and Sandy convince Patrick to let him. Gunther ends up burning Pearl's toys and Mr. Krabs' money, causing Krabs to demand Gunther leave. Patrick hesitates to give him up, but after Gunther runs away and burns down the canteen, Sandy and SpongeBob agree it's for the best.
To send Gunther back to space, Sandy ties him to balloons, but a seagull pops them and he falls back down. They then try to slingshot him into orbit, but he bounces off Saturn, crashing into the outhouse. Finally, Sandy sends a letter to Gunther's real parents, who come to pick him up. Patrick says goodbye to Gunther, who leaves a diaper full of diamonds that Patrick gives to Krabs.
