Due to SpongeBob forgetting to feed him, Gary runs away from home and is taken in by Granny after the latter mistakes him for one of her own pet snails, Miss Tuffsy. Unbeknownst to Gary, she plans to fatten him up and eat him. Despite Granny acting kind towards him, Gary finds out that she has fed other snails to death before after opening her closet, finding empty, broken, snail shells. As a result, Gary runs away back to Bikini Bottom for SpongeBob and Granny goes out to look for him, offering a plate of cookies and deviled eggs. Gary runs into an alley and meets one of the tough snails from earlier and pushes him into the sidewalk for Granny and she takes him instead.
