The Goofy Goober guitar is an instrument that SpongeBob plays to free the minds of the Bikini Bottomites in The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie.
Description[]
The Goofy Goober guitar is a peanut-colored and shaped guitar made to resemble the Goofy Goober mascot. The headstock is in the shape of the initials "GG," standing for Goofy Goober, which are pink. The neck has an alternating white and pink pattern with dot inlays, though in the live-action shot, it has split diamond inlays. It has what appears to be a P-90 pickup in the neck position and a trapeze tailpiece. In the PC game, the guitar has an additional pickup in the bridge position. It also has a small switch on it which controls the sound of the guitar.

The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie video game[]
A red guitar is an unlockable attack that is granted to SpongeBob by Princess Mindy in the "Welcome to Planktopolis" level, in which the former must aim the guitar at the eyes of the Plankton statues. Upgrading the attack will transition the instrument into a Goofy Goober guitar. It is also used to rid the bucket helmet off King Neptune's head in the final boss level, "Turn the Tables on Plankton."
There is also a mini-game in which SpongeBob must aim his guitar through Sonic Wave Guitar rings and hit a target at the end, all of which take place in earlier levels of the game. Failing to get the guitar through the rings, not aiming on time, or hitting an obstacle will result in the player losing the game.
Role in series[]

"Lost and Found"[]
The guitar is on a shelf in the Lost and Found, along with a lot of other items from the first movie.
Kamp Koral: SpongeBob's Under Years[]
"Mascot Mayhem"[]
Patrick shreds on the guitar during his performance as Outie the Outhouse.
Trivia[]
- The guitar seems to be based on the real-life Gibson Les Paul electric guitar, given the placement of the pickup selector switch and the general shape of the guitar. Unlike the Les Paul however, the Goofy Goober guitar has no cutaway at the neck.
