Gilbert Jeremy Gottfried (February 28, 1955 – April 12, 2022; aged 67) was an American actor who guest starred in the episodes "SpongeBob's Big Birthday Blowout," "The Hankering," "Wise Kraken," and "Get Off My Lawnie."
Biography[]
Gottfried was a stand-up comedian and actor. In the voice acting realm, he is best known as the voice of Jerry the Bellybutton Elf in The Ren & Stimpy Show, Iago the Parrot in Disney's Aladdin animated films and TV show, Dr. Bender and his son Wendell Bender in The Fairly OddParents, Digit in the PBS Kids TV show Cyberchase, Santa Claus in The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy episode "Billy & Mandy Save Christmas," and the original voice of the Aflac Duck in ads for Aflac until he got fired in 2011 for making a joke about the Japanese 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami.
He also guest starred in an episode of the webseries Angry Video Game Nerd on a review of Life of Black Tiger.
Gottfried passed away after a long battle with an illness (ventricular tachycardia)[1] on April 12, 2022.[2]
