Gary's shell is a clothing item worn by Gary in SpongeBob SquarePants. It appears many times throughout the franchise, but it plays its biggest role in the episode "Shell Shocked."

Description[]

It is pink with a red swirl and purple dots. In "Frozen Face-Off," it is revealed that he lives in the shell when he feels cold and decides to go in there to warm up. It's also known to store various items.

Gary plays the song "Loop de Loop" on his record player under his shell.

SpongeBob accidentally throws Gary at the wall and then his shell breaks.

  • In reality, the shell of snails and turtles are actually part of their body. Meaning snails cannot be removed from their shells by themselves.
  • In the cartoon, Gary's shell breaks and he remains shell-less. But in real life, if a snail's shell breaks, they could die.
