The gaptooth thug, also known as Thug 3, Pirate 12, and the executioner, is a minor character who first appears in the episode "No Weenies Allowed."
Description[]
He is a muscular gray fish with a rounded head, a pale pink belly, yellow teeth with a gap in the middle, and a small blue-gray dorsal fin. He wears a pair of gray sweatpants that cover up his feet with a black waist and also wears a dark green wool hat as well. Thug 3 has the same appearance as his normal variant.
He also has an alternate design that debuted in "Handemonium" where he is colored olive green with a light olive green belly, white teeth, brown spots, and a bright yellow dorsal fin. He also wears a black wool cap and teal pants with a brown belt that has a golden buckle.
Pirate 12[]
He wears a dark green headband and brown pants with a purple sash. He also has a peg leg for his right leg.
Executioner[]
He wears a black mask, gloves, and pants with a belt. His lips are also colored grayish-blue.
Role in series[]
The gaptooth thug has made a decent amount of appearances throughout the series. He is normally portrayed as a muscular tough fish and he can be commonly seen alongside other muscular looking fish. A "Pirate" incidental of him was created for "Grandpappy the Pirate." He has also been commonly portrayed as a construction worker as well. He was firstly designed to be a patron at The Salty Spitoon.

He is one of the tough fish shown at Tough Tavern, where Plankton goes to get some assistance in stealing the formula.
"SpongeBob Meets the Strangler"[]
He is one of the tough people who run away from the Tough Tavern when SpongeBob asks if any of them could be his bodyguard to protect him from the Tattletale Strangler.
"Skill Crane"[]
He is one of the construction workers by the crane Squidward drives. He asks SpongeBob if he knows who Squidward is. He then freaks out after Squidward destroys the mall that they were building and then has him, the other construction workers, and SpongeBob hide out in the Krusty Krab when Squidward accidentally loses control of the skill crane. He later decides to beat up Squidward with other construction workers at the end of the episode.

He aggressively shoves Perch Perkins out of the way twice during both of his news broadcasts.
"A Life in a Day"[]
He is seen as part of the biker gang that chases SpongeBob and Patrick for knocking over their motorcycles.
"Grandpappy the Pirate"[]
When Mr. Krabs is about to pay him with treasure, he suddenly runs out of treasure right before he is about to pay him. He then gets fired by him along with the rest of the crew, where he gives Mr. Krabs a disappointed look right before leaving the ship.
"Salty Sponge"[]
He is one of the patrons at The Salty Spitoon and later becomes a Softy Spitoon patron.
The Patrick Star Show[]
"Family Plotz"[]
He appears as a grave robber at the cemetery. He and his accomplice notice that Patrick can't count and offer to teach him, covering his eyes while counting up their stolen goods.
"Time to Eat"[]
The executioner chops Lady Upturn's head off.

He appears as a construction worker at the roller coaster where he forbids Patrick to ride the unfinished roller coaster.
