The funny rock (sometimes referred to as just rock) is a sentient rock that appears in the SpongeFunnies for SpongeBob Comics No. 41 as well as the SpongeFunnies for SpongeBob Comics No. 63.
Description[]
It is a small gray rock that is able to form a mouth and speak.

SpongeBob Comics No. 41[]
After Patrick forgets to be funny, he asks the audience if they want something funny. He then shows the funny rock, claiming he found it outside. Unfortunately, red Incidental 41 in the audience tells Patrick the rock is not funny. Patrick then tells a "why did the chicken cross the road" joke to the funny rock. The funny rock then becomes sentient, claiming that the chicken crossed the road to get away from Patrick's awful jokes. This fortunately makes the audience laugh.
SpongeBob Comics No. 63[]
After Patrick becomes jealous of SpongeBob having an imaginary friend, he decides to find a nearby rock for them to be his imaginary friend. SpongeBob claims that the rock cannot be his imaginary friend since rocks are real. The rock then becomes sentient and says to SpongeBob they are not real (despite clearly showing they are).
