This is the page about the 2002 event. For other uses, see Friday Night Nicktoons (disambiguation).
Friday Night Party with the Nicktoons was a Friday night block premiering and encoring episodes of SpongeBob SquarePants, Invader Zim, ChalkZone, and The Fairly OddParents every Friday between 8:00pm and 10:00pm throughout early and mid-2002. "SpongeBob" not only headlined the block, but premiered 7 new episodes during its run, more than any other show that aired with it.
Schedule changes[]
- During its five month run, "Friday Night Party" had one major schedule change, occurring at the very end of winter in 2002. From February 1, 2002[1] to March 15, 2002,[10] the block aired an hour of SpongeBob, and an hour of The Fairly OddParents!
Schedule #1[]
Time | Show |
---|---|
8:00pm - 8:30pm | SpongeBob SquarePants |
8:30pm - 9:00pm | |
9:00pm - 9:30pm | The Fairly OddParents! |
9:30pm - 10:00pm |
- Following the premiere of ChalkZone, as well as new episodes of Invader ZIM, the network pinned each show to air at 8:30pm and 9:30pm respectively. Nickelodeon most likely placed the former at 8:30pm to stand as a strong lead-out to the highly-rated premieres and encores of SpongeBob, giving it an already large audience to build off of.
Schedule #2[]
Time | Show |
---|---|
8:00pm - 8:30pm | SpongeBob SquarePants |
8:30pm - 9:00pm | ChalkZone |
9:00pm - 9:30pm | The Fairly OddParents! |
9:30pm - 10:00pm | Invader ZIM |
- On April 19, 2002, normal programming was replaced by two other ongoing '90s Nicktoons: "Rugrats" and "Hey Arnold!"[8][9]
Schedule #3[]
Time | Show |
---|---|
8:00pm - 8:30pm | Rugrats |
8:30pm - 9:00pm | |
9:00pm - 9:30pm | Hey Arnold! |
