Character

The Fisherman is a character from the fictional movie Fisherman 4: Attack of the Hook. He is mentioned in the episode "Don't Look Now" and later makes a physical appearance in the episode "The Night Patty."

Description[]

He is a ghostly human fisherman who has a yellow glow around him, yellow glowing eyes, a scraggly blue beard, light blue skin, a prosthetic hook, and wears a yellow raincoat and sou'wester.

Role in series[]

"Don't Look Now"[]

He appears as the main antagonist of the movie Fisherman 4: Attack of the Hook. He is shown to hook and kill a few fish, as well as stealing a fish's ice cream.

Squidward later dresses up as him to scare SpongeBob and Patrick.

"The Night Patty"[]

He first physically appears in this episode. He robs the Krusty Krab during the night shift, but he is caught by SpongeBob. However, everyone says he is not a criminal and that him robbing the place is a night shift tradition, and SpongeBob then apologizes to The Fisherman. He accepts his apology and introduces SpongeBob as the newest member of the shift, despite mispronouncing his name.

At the end of the night shift, he leaves with everybody else who worked at it, except SpongeBob. However, everyone SpongeBob met during the shift, including The Fisherman, were soon revealed to be an illusion created by The Tidal Zone.

Trivia[]

  • In the movie, he somehow manages to hook onto the ice cream part of the ice cream cone, instead of the cone itself.
  • Due to his appearance on a clock tower, he might be a local folklore figure to make sure people don't stay out too late, much like the real life Bonhomme Sept-Heures from Quebec folklore.
