The Swing-Hook is a type of hook that Sandy can use in the console versions of the video game Battle for Bikini Bottom and its remake Battle for Bikini Bottom: Rehydrated.

Description[]

Swing-Hooks are floating yellow orbs attached to a body in the shape of Texas. Its design is based on the flag of Texas, being blue, white, and red with a white star in the blue section.

Role in games[]

Swing-Hooks are found in every level that Sandy is playable in, those being Downtown Bikini Bottom, Rock Bottom, Sand Mountain, the Industrial Park, the Flying Dutchman's Graveyard, and SpongeBob's Dream. They always appear over large gaps, and Sandy can use her lasso to grab onto the hooks and swing across said gaps. Sometimes Sandy needs to use several swing-hooks to make it over a gap.

Swing-Hooks play a bigger role in the fight against Robo-Patrick. Eight Swing-Hooks are scattered around the area, and swinging on a Swing-Hook causes three boxes to fall out of the machine above the arena. During Sandy's part of the fight, she needs to swing on the Swing-Hooks and use the boxes in order to hit Robo-Patrick's weak point.

Trivia[]

  • The instruction manual for the original game refers to Swing-Hooks as "Texas Trailer Hitches."
  • In Rehydrated, the player must now hold down the interaction button when using a Swing-Hook, as opposed to just tapping it.
