"Eye of the Hotdog" is a Kamp Koral: SpongeBob's Under Years episode from season 1. In this episode, Craig Mammalton learns what it's like to not be the best at something.

Characters[]

Synopsis[]

In Perch Perkins' show, The Narrow World of Camp Sports, he focuses on Craig Mammalton. Craig has excelled in sports and lives with the other jocks in the Frigate cabin. He prepares for the first annual hot dog eating contest, which Mr. Krabs holds to unload a navy surplus he found. Craig faces off against SpongeBob, who fits all the hot dogs in his body, but then spits them out through his holes. Another contestant, Patrick, eats all the hot dogs and ends up beating Craig's score. However, Craig believes that he won both first and second place, and makes a show of accepting both trophies from Mr. Krabs. The campers laugh at him, and he leaves his cabin in shame, deciding to live under the outhouse.

SpongeBob goes to the outhouse, and finds Craig hiding inside. He reassures him that losing is not a big deal and he can still make a comeback. Inspired, Craig trains with his team and is ready for the second contest. When it commences, both Craig and Patrick eat hot dogs at a steady pace. Suddenly, chef Plankton realizes that the hot dogs are seconds away from going past their expiration date. During the contest, the hot dogs all simultaneously turn green and shriveled, making the contestants ill. Craig forces himself to keep them down until the timer is up. However, he immediately vomits them all out. The other campers, and Plankton, begin spitting out the expired hot dogs uncontrollably.

Patrick has eaten his trophy.

Fearing a lawsuit, Krabs decides to give Patrick and Craig trophies anyways. He spray paints hot dogs gold and gives them to both. Patrick eats his trophy, and he and Craig laugh, ending their rivalry. Craig recounts that even if he tied, he still gave the contest his all, and Perch closes the show by admiring Craig's spirit.
