Introduction

This is a user rights review to determine whether or not promoted users should remain in their position. This may seem radical, but it is to ensure that only qualified members keep their rights.

Under the "Discussion" heading, we will discuss whether the user is fit for their position(s). When voting, you are encouraged to add a reason why you want someone demoted or why they should keep their rights. If a user has a majority of all participants and participating administrators (more than 50%) supporting the removal of their position (neutrals excluded), they may be subject to demotion. Bureaucrats will determine the final verdict, but the community discussion will be taken very largely into account. This is to avoid "friend" and "grudge" voting.

Please keep this discussion civil and don't be insulting. If you have criticism, make it constructive. If you are one of the users being reviewed, please do not force others to support you. Calmly responding to a user's concern is fine, but aggressive behavior will be taken into account by the bureaucrats when reviewing the results.

Voting key:

  • {{Neutral}} - if you are neutral to the user keeping their rights.
  • {{Suspend}} - if you believe the user should be suspended. Be sure to state your proposed length.

  • Remove Remove - There is inactivity and then there is this. Having not made an edit of any sort for nearly five months, I highly doubt that he will ever start editing on even a semi-regular basis again, if at all. Obviously it is completely natural to have lost interest after 13+ years, but he really has no reason to still be holding user rights considering that this is the case. Yes, he had importance to the effective functioning of the wiki years ago, but this place is fine without him, and nothing would be lost if he is belatedly demoted as a result of this review. --The gamer 987654321 (talk) 18:42, October 15, 2020 (UTC)

  • Keep Keep - AMK has a lot going on in real life, and I just think he still has a lot to offer the wiki. Given the uncertain situation we find ourselves in this year, this has affected activity of just about every one of us.   • Keep Extremely Strong Keep - Inactive as he is, I know he may return in a month or two, and besides his demotion will not do very well for the community. He doesn't even know URRs returned (if he did, he'd probably be back right now). This is why I didn't want these reviews to return yet because I knew the logic of this wiki. Unlike some others who are critical of him, I actually think that the way he was repromoted was not wrong, but I don't think he needed it. I mean looking at his actions as admin since then (which weren't exactly the best), as well as the fact that he can afford to make another request and easily win makes things a little doubtful. I mean, the rule allowing former crew to be excused from the repromotion policy is meant for when it's necessary, right ? I only foresee 2 scenarios in the future when it'll be needed but other than that, it wouldn't hurt.   • Remove Remove - I haven't seen him use his rights particularly often. However, as he is active enough I would imagine that it would be possible to get some sort of discussions-related action out of him if you pushed him. The reason I want him demoted is because he has edit warred extensively, to the point where it would have been fair to block him, and because he more generally reverts edits randomly with no reasoning. Also, he has the tendency to be contrary when presented with opposing opinions, and to overreact, such as wanting someone else's blog post deleted because it dares to refer to him as a "simp."
